I was going to post this..but figured you'd want the honors :)

(bonus points to firstdown if he can turn this political thread into a non-political thread)

Some would argue that Specter left the Republican party a long time ago, others that it left him. Alls I know is for moderate republicans like myself, this is another sign that maybe the GOP just don't want us anymore. But can you win in 2012 without us? Because you couldn't in 2008.

How any true conservative can align themselves with the Republican party at this time is completely beyond me. I mean other than the whole thing that we'll be completely communist by tomorrow that is.

Didn't Arlen Spector start off as a Democrat? Spector and Collin Powell can take a hike. Now if the Republicans could only get rid of McCain I would consider voting for them, until then they can keep on losing. It doesn't really matter anyway. They're already cramming down the uber-liberal agenda? I'm not upset because Bush had a BS liberal agenda too. What's the difference?

He did; and you really won't see much of a change.

Great Orators of the Democrat Party

'I invented the Internet'

If you can find me a source for this I'll leave the board forever.

Al Gore "invented the Internet" - resources (http://sethf.com/gore/)

You can stay - but it is pretty darn close:
GORE: ... During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet.

pretty fascinating how words/perception/even outright fiction can turn into "fact"

another myth created by th G.O.P

Didn't realize the GOP was responsible...

Anyway, once and for all here is what Gore actually said

Transcript: Vice President Gore on CNN's 'Late Edition' - March 9, 1999 (http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/1999/03/09/president.2000/transcript.gore/index.html)

During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system.

I could deal with that becoming fact as well, I won't even mind if the GOP is to blame.

'It depends what your definition of sex is."
- Bill Clinton

Thats a good one! But my favorite one of Bill's was this one:

"Indeed I experimented with Pot a time or two and I didn't like it and I didn't inhale and thats that."

You just can't have a Bill Clinton quote without that one!

Who was that crazy dem. that spoke back at the rep. convention in the 2004 election that said something like "What do they want us to do shoot spit balls at them" talking about the dems. and funding for the war. That speach he made was a classic.
