You can add one more to the list: Pelosi recently saying (TWICE!) that "If the Stimulus (Spending) Package is not passed quickly, then 500 million people will lose their jobs". Since there are approximately 280-290 million people currently living in the U.S. , total, I would assume the remainder she is referring to are illegal Mexicans.

It's not uncommon for someone in Specter's posotion to switch parties. Several Democrats became Reepulicans in the mid 90s so they could protect their seats and be in the majority. Specter is older than dinosaur crap and he's had the cancer twice, so it's not likely that he will be in the Senate for too long as a member of any political party.
