according to PFT (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/04/28/steelers-cutting-larry-foote/) so grain of salt... Could be decent depth and he's only 28.

I don't know that it's official yet, but yeah it would be a cap casualty. So I think they may re-sign him at some point, but I think I also heard he wants to play close to home (Detroit)

Its nothing wrong with adding depth as long as its not at the cost of the cap

I think this is more about Lawrence Timmons then a cap cut. Timmons could walk in and start on a lot of teams in the NFL yet he's been on the Steelers bench for a couple of years.
