I gave it a B, only because I wanted Oher. But if he gets Double Digit sacks, I will raise it up to an A++

I'm really happy with this pick. I never thought he'd fall to us and he should benefit from the surrounding cast. I wouldn't have been upset if we snagged Oher either. Hopefully, we can draft someone decent in the 3rd rd.

We have a good secondary too...I LOVE the look of our D this year...we should be a top 5. If we can get the offense looking good, we will have a tough team to beat.
Its all about staying healthy. Our old ass, oops I mean o-line was fine when healthy...

Very true. Injuries are ALWAYS a factor with us too...hopefully they won't be significant injuries this year.

Orakpo is a really good pick. I'm surprised he slid to us and I think he'll really benefit from playing alongside Griffin, AH, and Carter. Our secondary is strong and can cover guys long enough for these guys to get to the QB.
I wouldn't have hurt my feelings if we drafted Oher but hopefully there will be someone left when we draft again in the 3rd rd.
Kudos to Vinny and DS for not doing anything stupid.

Good pick. Get an OL in the 3rd and this will be a great weekend.

Interesting way to grade

I saw him as an A grade player so I'll rank the pick the same

13. Washington Redskins
The pick: Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas
What he brings: Orakpo came off the board this early because he can get to the quarterback. He has excellent first-step quickness, he can redirect insider after starting outside and has better closing speed than his 4.7 40 suggests. That's not to say he can't defend the run. He has excellent upper-body strength and is tough at the point of attack. Still, he could stand to add five to 10 pounds to his frame.

How he fits: Washington must have been ecstatic that a pass-rusher of Orakpo's caliber was around at the 13th pick. He fills an immediate need with the departure of Jason Taylor combined with an aging Renaldo Wynn and Phillip Daniels. He is a nice addition to play opposite of Andre Carter and next to Cornelius Griffin and Albert Haynesworth in forming one of the better defensive lines in the NFC.

I suppose I am just gunshy after last years injuries:
yeah, sprains and strains are a lot better than tears and blowouts though

I like the pick. With him and AH if we can't get to the QB this year we never will.
so with AH and orakpo how much do we do the 100% technique and look for the run first?
