I'm rooting for M.Williams to work out. I love following his weight loss and his work-ethic. Seems like a nice guy. But I was just reading up about him to see why a #4 pick went jobless. It's probably posted before, but here is a good article from April to remind us about his ankle and chronic back problems which sidelined him, missing 3-5 games each season. I'd hate to get our hopes up too much, and pin our season on his back.. Let's hope Heyer and possibly Bridges can both bring starter-caliber talent to the table.
"[Mike William's] second year was marred by an ankle injury that hobbled him for most of the season, forcing him to miss three games. He skipped voluntary mini-camps in 2004 for "personal reasons" and was fined for an unexcused absence in training camp. He started only five of the nine games he played before he was sidelined by a back injury during his final season, losing his job to a converted tight end."
...
"I don't know if he can be considered the biggest bust in Bills history, but he's close," John Murphy, the Bills radio analyst during Williams' tenure, said the other day over the telephone.
Williams signed to play with the Jacksonville Jaguars but spent the 2006 season on injured reserve with a bad back. The Oakland Raiders showed interest in signing him for 2007 but the back ached too much. He could no longer bend over. There was surgery for a herniated disk. His NFL career appeared over.

What's wrong with a rooting for a big overweight player from your team who's trying to get into shape? With so many people being overweight in this country, it's good to see an example of someone who's busting his ass to get into shape.

Haha, that doesn't mean he is into him or anything. Have you been under a rock? We signed M.Williams and we need him to lose a ton of weight to play on our O-line. Yes the same o-line which sucked donkey d*** all of last season.
Williams was once a 1st round pick and now gets injuries because of his weight, therefore as any fan who is following a player's development would follow Williams weight, as that is the primary factor determines Williams ability to contribute to our line.
William contributes->we have a better chance to protect JC->JC throws TDs->we make the playoffs.
I could spell it out for you....

Like it or not this is going to be our starting RT. Personally I love his story. Would be interesting to see how much weight Redskin fans loose compared to other teams this season. Either way wouldn't be surprised to see a fan get motivated by Big Mikes progress.

You never know with injuries(I hope not) or lack of production. I just want him to ball, and he might come in useful.

Although not necessarily motivated by Mike Williams, I've lost 33 lbs. But I'm definitely rooting for him.
