he's better than most rookie QBs and far superior to ANY of the QBs available in this year's draft. That said, i'm very happy with Orakpo.Doubt he'll be any better than either Clausen or Bradford, and I'm not predicting historic success for either of those guys.

While were at it, I doubt he'll be quite what Flacco, Henne, and Ryan were in 2008 (though Brian Brohm looks to be an epic overdraft at this point), and I doubt he'll turn out better than Kolb, Quinn, or Edwards from 2007.

There's just certain things a quarterback needs to do to have any sort of trust from his coordinator. Sanchez, at this point in his career, cannot do those things and I would be stunned if he turned out to ever amount to anything in this league.

With that said, it's hard to quantify what the playoff experience he is getting now will do for his long-term development. Enough to overcome his inability to throw under pressure? Doubt it. But the Jets have risked it all (and I mean a likely SB title) with Sanchez this year, so maybe they'll get something for their trouble.

Enthusiasm and positive attitude cannot block defensive lineman. Once again, horrible attitude of Redskins fans to think that if you replace the QB positive, everything will be fine. Maybe Vinny Cerrato has brain washed all fans and lead them to believe that offensive lines are not important.

It's horrible that Skins fans place all the blame on the line. Especially when their so called franchise QB can't complete a pass over 10 yards.

No, a few Skins fans are like you, who think the problem lies solely on the QB. Luckily, your boy Vinny is no longer in charge and will build the line and rebuild the team in the next two years. Right now, Campbell is at best a transition QB, and whether he stays here or not will depend on his performance. Regardless, we need to build this damn line if we want to do anything in the passing game (with or without Campbell) and the running game (with our without Portis).

This is an old, tired debate. Sanchez is not the reason the Jets are winning, nor has he cost them an important game. He has the same ingredients Flacco had last year, an outstanding D, run game, and OLine. His stats are worse than Campbell by far, but the fact is he is in the Conference championship. If you ask me what that proves, it is that this game is played and won by teams, not by a single positional player. The focus on Campbell or any "skill position" is opposite to this fundamental truth of football, it is a TEAM sport.

I know Shanahan and Allen understand this concept, so if they want to leave JC, a solid team player if not an exceptional qb, I am ok with that. We can do mighty things if we have a leader who is leading our 53 men into the weekly battle.

I never said the blame was entirely JC's. I think we all agree that our problems with the offensive line need to be rectified. The in-ability to read a defense has nothing to do with a deplorable line. The inability to hit open receivers down field, even when you have time - can't be blamed on those who're blocking for him. That's the point I was making about Campbell. As you stated he's at best a transition QB. I predict that he'll lose the starting job to Bradford/Clausen before our first regular season game.

Negative. If we're going to build a good line, I think we need a first round lineman.

honestly i think my dog could qb the jets, all they need is someone to out the ball in the rb's hands, and ocasionally throw a pass. sanchez may eventually be a good qb, but as of right now he hasn't done anything to show that he will be anytime soon. when you have a team with an outstanding offensive line, great running game, and good d you really don't need a manning or elway behind center for you, just ask mark rypien

True, but JC isn't the answer and Shannahan will address our need for a franchise QB in this years draft, first and foremost.

You cannot be serious. He settled with Griese and Plummer before drafting Cutler. His offense is predicated on the run first. There is no way in the world that he drafts his future QB without first purchasing the insurance for him.

Yeah,! I stole that from "The Blind Side" What?
