yeah. I know. I am just disappointed that, with a top 10 defense and one of the lowest scoring offenses in the league, we didnt take a few more shots on that side of the ball.
Think about it, other than Dockery, every significant offseason aquisition has been on the defensive side of the ball. Haynesworth, Hall, Orakpo, Barnes. Sure it had its issues late in the game, but was our defense THAT bad?!?!
I understand what you are saying. But I offer this: in the draft we simply weren't going to be able to fill all 3 holes at OT, DE, and LB. Filling two of those holes through the draft would be a good draft. If Orakpo is the real deal, we filled one hole. If one of those LB's turns out to be the next Horton, we filled two holes. And let's face it, by drafting 2 LB's we are increasing the chance that at least one of the LB's works out.
Over the course of the next few months, vet OT's should appear on the market. We could nab one of them and perhaps be in good shape. Or maybe Heyer, Rinehart, or Williams is quietly having a monster offseason and next year will be much, much better than before. All is not lost for the offense.
