tryfuhl 04-24-2009, 03:15 PM alex mack is my favorite player in the entire draft. if the draft went my way he would be #1 overall
he is, IMO, the best player in the entire draft and the safest, surest pick
number 1 overall, why? You know he won't go that way so no need to draft him there
hes tall but he blocks low and his first and second steps are faster than any other center in the draft
I'm sure that you've watched him more than me but I read that he gets up too tall as a con.. the faster off of the snap I have heard though
tryfuhl 04-24-2009, 03:16 PM i cant see any player in the top 4 being worth the trade up other than curry
michael oher and andre smith were both rated higher than jason smith and eugene monroe at the end of the season
the combine and offseason dropped them down on many draft boards, but they are still very talented
trading up isnt smart, especially in a very weak draft class
I mean a top 4 OT
redsk1 04-24-2009, 03:17 PM I think the fans would be tolerant if we were really in a rebuilding mode w/ a plan. The problem is like the post sais we are in between. We don't have direction and lack FO discipline. We are a bipolar organization. It's who we are. We've become a laughingstock organization. A perenial average team.

I've watched him play for years here in Northern Cal. and all the stuff you hear from the experts is BS. I would goas far as saying that he could be the next Jim Otto. Read this:
Alex Mack, California, NFL Draft - CBSSports.com Football (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/504640)

I mean I follow, but if nobody else is going to make him a number 1 pick it'd be foolish to do so yourself, trade down, pick him up later, and somebody else

very smart, very quick, strong, and has great hands
hes tall but he blocks low and his first and second steps are faster than any other center in the draft
eric wood is probably a little stronger, and max unger is probably a little quicker, but there isnt a better talent overall in the draft
any of the top centers in the draft would be great for the redskins at either center or guard
mack
unger
wood
robinson
caldwell
luigs
newton
they could all help and most of them will be available when the redskins pick
Wow, you're not even her a month and you came in on the Mack Wagon. Welcome aboard. Did you come to this conclusion by listening to others like myself or did you watch the Youtube of him tearing s**t up? We had it on here for a little while. If we couldn't draft down I'd take Mack over trading up to get Sanchez. I don't care if he's a center.
CantonLegend 04-24-2009, 03:27 PM number 1 overall, why? You know he won't go that way so no need to draft him there
in a few years when we look back at the draft and realize who were the best players to come out of the draft, we wont be looking at matthew stafford or brian orakpo or tyson jackson
im looking at the draft as if it were years ago. I think alex mack will have a better pro career than any other pick in the draft. I think he will be here in canton with me some day. the last center that i thought was as close in talent to mack was nick mangold out of ohio state. he also went in the first round and now is a huge reason why thomas jones made the pro bowl last year
I'm sure that you've watched him more than me but I read that he gets up too tall as a con.. the faster off of the snap I have heard though
he is 6'4" but gets almost too low when he snaps the ball, he is a natural knee bender and he is very comfortable in his stance, if you've ever tried to put 1 hand down like a lineman and keep your head up, you'll realize how hard it is to do that for 5, 10, 15 seconds before the snap
then he takes his first step without moving his upper body, his second step is either a turn or a pull step and his 3rd step is when he starts his upward motion with his body, but by then he will either have made contact with his opponent or he will be in the open field, head hunting

sfredskin might disagree with you there. He's been beating the A. Mack drum for months.

ive watched him as much as i could since the beginning of the college football season. Im a Saints fan at heart and i know very little about the redskins as a whole so after the saints let jeff faine go, ive been looking at possible replacements and i realized alex mack was a very special player before all the mocks even came out
it really doesnt matter who started it, as long as macks name is being tossed around and hes getting credit that he rightfully deserves
