I just hope they don't all hide at once when we have a losing season in 2009. Swarley 04-24-2009, 01:11 AM I totally agree he(JC) deserves another yr to prove his worth. I'm not advocating we draft a QB. All I'm saying is if we get one it will not hurt my feeling and I can kinda understand. What will be different with Sanchez? who knows. The kids been in a Pro style WCO his whole time at SC. Yes he only played one yr but he understands the WCO style. Does that make him different no. JC has better experience having played pro games. but "if" JC has a hard time reading defenses and Sanchez supposedly is awsome at reading defenses then we have upgraded. If Sanchez can throw all the NFL throws easily (which I keep hearing and reading) then he's an upgrade to JC considering JC throws the short passes too hard and is not accurate on his long ball. JC has a hard time throwing the ball prior to his WR's making their cuts. He seems to stare down his WR's waiting for them to get open. Sanchez throws the ball prior to the WR making their cuts and hits them in stride. That's an upgrade to me. I just hope the team has a plan for RT, G, C, LB, and maybe DE. Ok in that regard I hear you. I just feel that considering the amount of picks we have in this draft, we really should be focusing our attention elsewhere. Now if the FO and our coaches think Sanchez is worth taking than I can understand it and I might even warm up to the idea, especially if they can find another way to fill some of the holes we have. The only thing I'm scared about is the us taking such a player when everyone (FO, and coaches) are not on the same page thus creating a rift between the two and another year of starting all over. Ruhskins 04-24-2009, 01:18 AM I didn't watch the press conference, but were Zorn, Vinny, and Snyder grilled on why are they looking to get rid of Campbell? I mean part of me has the hope that this is all a hoax and that it'd be stupid for some member of the press to grill them about why are they running JC out of town, b/c all this would be is smokescreen to either trade down or affect the draft in the team's favor. But there's a part of me that wishes the local media would be up in arms as much as some of us fans are and just find out what da hell is going on instead of feeding the speculation. SkinDogg 04-24-2009, 01:26 AM Is Jeff George still available? Don't know, but what about Deion Sanders? skinsfan69 04-24-2009, 01:58 AM I'm kinda supprised at most of you. If I knew how to work a search button on here I'd find the thread where everyone is bashing JC saying he sucks, has a slow throwing motion, can only throw intermediate passes, throws too hard for short routes, is not accurate on the long ball, can't read defenses. Am I bashing him no not really but I do believe some of these issues. I for one thought Zorn would be able to fix some of the problems, perhaps Zorn has figured out JC will either not change cause of habit or can't change with out ruining some of his effectiveness. Where are all the Colt fans? I think I only saw one Colt fan on here rallying for the cause. lol. I agree there are some bigger issues then JC like the OL for protection. but no matter how much protection you give him, if he can't read a defense and audible then nothing will change with a decent OL. Oh, I'll agree he played lights out for 8 games. I'm not knocking him. I'm just wondering where all the JC bashers are? As for Sanchez. It's not rocket science that JC is in his last yr. If there is a possibility to upgrade a team should do it atleast a yr prior to letting said current QB go cause the new one will have to learn the speed of the game and play calls. I honestly don't know why JC is throwing a fit. Stay with the team, Play lights out, show the Skins they need to resign him, and ask for more money this time. If you lose your possition to a one season, 16 game experienced Rookie then maybe there are serious problems. How sweet it would be to have JC, Sanchez, and Colt. Perhaps not in that order. JC knows he would get the start. Sanchez does not even have the play book. He has to learn that first and then get on the field for experience, and then learn the speed of the game. Also, I'm not sure why people are knocking Sanchez unless it's simply due to having to give up so much. Sanchez played in a pro style WCO in college. He can make all the throws. He is accurate. He can scramble, He throws the ball prior to his WR make their breaks (which if I'm accurate some said JC could not do. He seemed to throw the ball when the WR got to his mark on the field which usually resulted in a ball behind the WR) Sanchez hits his WR in stride. His only knock is he lacks experience. He played one season...16 games. I have said in other threads....I'm not for moving up and getting him. I'm for dropping back and getting extra picks as long as we have a trade partner. I bet we don't. I believe we need OL, LB, CB, DE, WR, and RB. I'm happy with JC for this yr and see how he does with a better OL. but ....if they get Sanchez, so be it. I'll understand. I don't like mortgaging our future or losing picks to get him but if he is honestly better then JC then good get him. The QB's of this era need to get thicker skin. Buck up and let your play be your mouth. Stop being babies and play. There are 32 teams in the NFL and not everyone can be a starter. JC if you feel snubed then go elsewhere and try to take the job from someone else unless of course your lucky enough to go to a team that has no one. I don't see him having the type of passing skills that Carson Palmer has. I just don't see it. To me he looks just like John David Booty. They're guys you can win with but they're not franchise type guys. I saw a few games where he just looked lost. Did you watch him play Oregen State? USC got owned against a below average team and he played poorly. If you put him on a team that was less talented he wouldn't be getting the hype he is. Redskins_P 04-24-2009, 02:10 AM I don't blame Campbell for wanting a trade. I'm hoping we don't draft Sanchez, but it looks more and more like its gonna happen. I think Vinny and Danny think they can get some more depth in the later rounds (o-line, d-line, LB). My assumption is that the FO thinks that our defense will give us a chance to win every game and that we won't need that much offense. As much as I've been a fan of Campbell since day 1, how much of a dropoff will it be with Sanchez? He's played in a pro-style offense w/USC and from what I've heard he seems like a real confident guy. I think Danny is looking for a more vocal leader. Redskin Jim 04-24-2009, 02:10 AM The real reason Joe Gibbs left was Dan Snyder he's an idiot. I'm used to drinking myself into oblivion.. I will when we draft Sanchez, I will when we send JC down the road, and I will continue it seems as long as Danny continues to stick his schnozz into football buisiness... BOTTOMS UP FELLAS,TO ANOTHER BANNER 10 YEARS! Ijaeger 04-24-2009, 02:23 AM If all this plays out the way it looks like it may, then I personally describe it as an embarrassment and disgrace to the organization. Truly unjust on the behalf of JC, unjust to Head Coach, and to players and fans alike. I agree with most on this this topic as far as "anyone but Sanchez" on D-Day. When will we learn to stop the vicious cycle that seems to start us from square 1 when we appear to be headed in the right direction? It's going to be funny when we draft Dirty, say bye bye to JC, and Todd or Colt starts(hope I'm wrong about Dirty and will admit it if I am). Guess we'll wait and see, but if I had only one pick on Saturday...it would be Orakpo. He would solidify that spot for years. F' it. Give Cleveland our first, third, and Randle El, trade up for BO and pray DT and MK take over as #2 & #3. As far as Sanchez, if we end up with him then that's what we have and all we can do us hope for the best. But I hope it's all a smoke screen...but hope is just that, so brace yourself. -HAIL skins89moss 04-24-2009, 02:55 AM I don't blame Campbell for wanting a trade. Well when your coming in the league as a Rookie QB you have got earn the respect of your teammates before they are going to respect you. They dont give a hell about what you did at USC. That theory about our defense keeping us in games well who besides Hanyesworth and Landry that scare any other teams. We cant get pressure without blitzing which is why we dont force ints. Our offense cant seem to ever get up by 14 points so the defense may take some chances to force turnovers. It maybe a long season for Redskin Fans SmootSmack 04-24-2009, 08:33 AM This is great for the Redskins! Now they can say "Look, we like Campbell and we wanted him here. But he and his agent were calling for a trade. And, for the sake of the chemistry of our team, we just felt if he didn't want to be here..." |
