No...Sanchez will be overlooked for another prospect in a year or two if he doesn't have a great season. I honestly think it's gotten to the point lots of fans, especially those of us who take the time to become at least a little more informed/knowledgeable as Warpathers, are now more patient than our owner/FO. Think about it. The most knowledgeable contributors (I'm not one but i pay close attention to their posts) are encouraged by JC's progress in the WCO, and they're realistic enough to acknowledge the sad state of things surrounding Jason. Well again our ownership/FO somehow misses all this...i mean what is most appalling to me is the absence of a clear and concise statement by anyone at Redskins Park acknowledging the utter collapse of the o-line in the 2nd half of last season, especially in terms of protecting Jason.

The problem is that the most knowledgeable portion of the fan base is rarely heard and often shouted down by people who see a dropoff in production and assume he'll never get better. The majority of our fanbase is not like Gtripp. Most of the people I know want Campbell gone or Colt to start.

It's a huge grasp to say that Sanchez is even going to be available.

Well if JC said he will seek a trade if we bring in another QB??? Dont let the door hit you in the as s on the way out big fella.....

No Sanchez trade? - Redskins 360 - Washington Times (http://washingtontimes.com/weblogs/redskins/2009/apr/24/no-sanchez-trade/)

-- Coach Jim Zorn talked about evaluating quarterbacks on accuracy, what former Maryland coach Bobby Ross called "evadeability." tenacity and leadership. Zorn also said the Redskins will definitely add a quarterback this weekend, whether through the draft or as a undrafted free agent.

How would people feel if we make a steal and draft Jason Campbell for a first rounder? Scenario: Jets miss out on Sanchez, panic when they look at their QB roster, and make a trade. I know this is completely in la-la land, but what if?

He also said we would have 4 qbs in training camp, that sounds like camp bodies, not 4 prospective qbs. And if they do what people say, and get sanchez/trade JC, that still only leaves 3.

I think VC is absolutely comfortable lying to get what he needs, Zorn seems to need to always have some nugget of truth, and that makes his statements now when he has to be deceptive almost comical.

I haven't had the time to read the whole discussion, but it doesn't make sense. Either way we go, we will be putting an un-proven QB under center this year. Colt hasn't taken any snaps during game time, and Sanchez won't be up to speed on the playbook in time. If they don't want Jason, we should groom Colt instead of going after MS. Colt should get a shot, just to see if his college stats were the product of a weak schedule, or a talented QB.
I dont like Sanchez, don't want him. I like Jason, and don't think we should do anything until after this year.

Ruh i think you implicitly mean we get Sanchez too right?

Anyway...no i'm not down w/ it at all. Just after our season ended I started a thread of my own predictions. I said back in December, just after our season ended, JC would have a monster season in '09. It was a tough thing to say cuz he struggled so much in the 2nd half of the season, but i watched every game and saw everything around Jason crumbling...starting w/ a truly pathetic o-line and ending w/ WR who just couldn't get open most of the time. But looking forward I said if the franchise does things right, improving the line and getting better performance out of our WR corp, that JC would look like the stud he was early in the season. I still believe that. What bothers me so much about the Sanchez craze isn't Sanchez, but that Danny the FO somehow still don't see the big picture IMO...you have to build a solid system around a QB to make things happen. We've not done that in forever and evidently have no plan of doing it now. Instead just look to another prospect who would have to be a miracle maker to score the kind of points the NFL's best offensive systems score.

You are right. It doesn't make sense. I just don't see Zorn assenting to going into the season with Collins, Brennan, or Sanchez under center.

This is one of many reasons why I think the whole trade-up-for-Sanchez thing is a smoke screen, nothing more. I really don't think that the Skins are as smitten with Sanchez as many people think we are.

The more I hear the more I doubt it is a smoke screen. We had a Qb that had been in the league for a few yrs and played lights out for 8 games. Then got out shined by Rookies (Balt, Atlanta) with new coach's in new offenses. I think Zorn sees something he does not like in JC or simply thinks we could do better.

Once again I agree with you from beginning to end. You are right, Zorny is hilarious when it comes to the cloak-and-dagger draft stuff because he doesn't want to lie and he doesn't want to tell the truth. I'll bet he's a rotten poker player because he feels uncomfortable bluffing.
