The Passing Game has elevated to another level therfore in order to defend against it you need a solid defensive line and in order to have it you need a solid offensive line. It's all about the trenches we took care of the defense time to address the offense.

Anyone but Sanchez is a solid pick.

We've spent all of this time on the draft. Now Synder is going to make all of this time, plus the time of the coaches, staff, and scouts worthless.

I have decided that I will not even turn on the TV tomorrow. I will find out what happens when I get home tomorrow afternoon. If I watch I may get an ulcer.
We called it, nice job to us

You are correct! While all of the folks who didn't vote for Orakpo can still gripe, the many who voted for him should tone down their criticisms of the FO for now. The FO got them their boy.

I also think if we go O-Line I like Andre Smith at RT. He is a beast in run blocking, not sure about pass protection. Not worried about his combine stunt he will learn from our vets. 2nd choice I like Rey Maualuga size and his play making ability. I know his combine numbers don't wow you but he makes plays on the field where it counts. 3rd Orakpo he can rush the passer , may take him some time to learn how to drop back into coverage as a LB.
Wow Rey fell to the 2nd round to the Bengals. Well he can play with his former USC teammate Keith Rivers. I happy with Brian Orakpo the Beast.

Well it wasn't a smoke screen it was the Jets giving up much more than we were willing to part with. I guess the Jason Taylor 2nd rd pick may have saved us. VC said they tried to move up. We got saved by the Jets and also thank you AL Davis for your pick, which allowed the 49ers to pick a offensive player. This allowed Orakpo to fall to us.

The FO is on the record as saying that they inquired about moving up for Sanchez. Just about every other team did this as well as part of due diligence so it wasn't a big deal. The FO also said that they really had their hearts set on Orakpo all along.
So, yes, the Sanchez stuff was a smokescreen.
