As confusing as that is GridIron26 :) I actually agree with you. I think Monroe and J. Smith are more NFL ready right now but A. Smith and Oher have more potential. But basing a player's future ability on potential also gives them more of a chance of being a bust. I like Oher but A. Smith's immaturity scares me a bit. I think they have more upside and like you say, if they're successful, I think they would turn out to be better players.
Lol yea.. The sentence with bold is pretty much right on the nose.. While J. Smith and Monroe are pretty much "safe" picks but I doubt they would be in same category with Odgen and Pace..

By the way, the latest report from inside Redskins Park says the Redskins have decided not to pursue any of these OTs at the #13 spot, even if one is available, and instead look later in the draft for some line help.
Could just be posturing though.

So I'm convinced the pick will be on the defensive side. As long as the player is scheme-neutral (which will be tricky), I'm okay with that.

Hey does anyone know what ever happened to Dexter Manley's kid? I know he was not coming out as a #1 but I thought he was supposed to be out last yr or this year and he has fallen off the face of the earth. What did he do drop out of school? Get kicked out of school?

If we do go defense at No. 13, we should actively be trying to posture up for a shot at an OLman high in round two or at the back end of round one.

To be honest I have only seen Oher play in the bowl game vs Texas Tech. He didn't look to good. I like the fact that Monroe comes from Virgina which has put recent Offensive Lineman ( D.Fergerson,Brandon Albert) High in the draft. Anyone know how he did against USC? I know it was a blow out for the Boys of Troy. Jason Smith is a converted TE which means he is a good athelete. Did he play in a spread offense, if so that will take him time to adjust to the pro style offense. Then there is Andre Smith a Huge OL that just over powered his opponet in college. I worry about his weight and maturity level. Who is in his circle of trust guiding him during the most important process of his short foootball career. I heard he has fired his agent. Doesn't this remind you of Sean Taylor early in his career ( changing agents, missing rookie sympossium)? We know how good Sean Taylor turned out. I would say Andre Smith will be the best of the bunch. He could also play guard like Leonard Davis and Robert Gallery had to do. I remember Mel Kiper was so high on Robert Gallery. Well will see over the next few years.
