Although, I must say that if the team does indeed draft Sanchez and we get rid of Campbell, you can put us in the basement with the Cowpukes.Well, yeah. I doubt we'd get rid of Campbell even if we brought on Sanchez.
In which case, we might slip behind the Giants if they address their offensive needs while we ran, admirably, in place.
We'd most likely just end up with a Brees/Rivers situation on our hands at the end of next year. Except, instead of having perennial pro bowl candidate Phillip Rivers, we'd just have middling Mark Sanchez.

If we pick Sanchez, I don't see us giving up Campbell unless we are offered draft picks. This will be his second season under the same offense and knowing it better then last yr. I'm sure Zorn will add a few pieces to the puzzle to make the team better. Sanchez would be starting out having to learn the speed of the NFL and all the playcalls. It would be a tall order for Sanchez unless Zorn is going to keep it simple agian. Which you would be right we would be another 8-8 team.
Yes we will probably pick best available player but honestly I don't see us taking Sanchez. I believe there are too many other teams out there that absolutly need a QB. I think DS is posturing to make other teams scared and perhaps trade into spots before us to enable other players they would like to get to fall to us or cause one of those desperate teams to contact us with a draft trade offer to get Sanchez giving us more picks.
JPPT1974 04-15-2009, 06:03 PM That will be a way to kick off the season.
As these games with the NFL East rivals are awesome!

100% correct.. The Fate of the Redskins season rides with Campbell. If we hit the reset button and get rid of Campbell, whoever is brought in has no familiarity with team or playbook. If Campbell does well the team will be above average, if he does not, its basement city... Oh, and also reset button time!
Giantone 04-16-2009, 05:19 AM If we power-ranked the division right now, it would have to be something like:
1) Eagles
2) Redskins
3) Giants
4) Cowboys
The Giants, of course, could fill their offensive holes between now and the season. The gap between the Eagles and the Giants isn't very big right now, and no team is likely to win more than 11 games next year.
Holes ........................LOL,like???Maybe a better question ,you say the gap between the Giants and Eagles isn't very big yet you put the Skins at # 2,rankings untill the season starts are meaningless, people need to see how the draft ,pre season and injuries affect a team.

Oh I don't know, because this is a Redskins fan forum? :smashfrea

Haven't you been paying attention? Philly pretty much dismantled their team outside of Westbrook and McNabb who will likely give up (he said he wanted out if they don't improve the team).

If we draft Sanchez, Brennan will beat him out as the #1. To quote Colt, "I'm hungry!"

We cut three former pro-bowlers on defense to free up cap room. They lost one.
We just added a high-priced free agent in the process, which should help to close the gap a lot.
I also don't think anyone's plan to beat Philly relies on McNabb not caring. That would be a really, really terrible plan, wouldn't you think?

But I wouldn't expect you to catch that, given your allegiance and all.
