Gardner did have a spectacular catch, but he needs to learn to catch the easy ones, its the hard ones he catches.
Where's McCants when you need him.Pages :

Big C 09-20-2004, 12:59 PM Gardner did have a spectacular catch, but he needs to learn to catch the easy ones, its the hard ones he catches. SUNRA 09-20-2004, 01:17 PM Gardner has a had good games, in fact he had a great season under Marty. McCants had a decent season last year, and the year before he fumbled almost every time he caught a pass. In my opinion McCants hasn't proven anything more than Gardner. McCants led with 6 TD's. I remember Gardner catching a pass against the Giants his first year catching and fumbling on the play. But McCants I don't recall that. McCants was resigned this year. Gardner was in the process of being traded but no one wanted him. That Guy 09-20-2004, 02:04 PM last year it looked like mccants had good hands, but speed wasn't really his thing... maybe jacobs should get a try? he looked alright so far... i don't know though... i've never been gardner fan, and this game didn't help that... Gmanc711 09-20-2004, 02:17 PM I think we'll see McCants activated this week, just my guess. Will he start ahead of Gardner? I doubt it but we'll see. If Gardner isn't a #2 WR I have a hard time saying that McCants is. McCants has been just as inconsistent in his limited playing time, he's almost a Gardner clone in size, speed and hands. All I want to see is McCants in, when we are in the redzone. You can count on him there. SmootSmack 09-20-2004, 02:21 PM McCants had a tendency a couple of years ago to catch the ball but then he'd start running and drop the ball while he was running. I think that's why they started using him in the red zone so he wouldn't have to run anywhere after he caught the ball in the endzone VTSkins897 09-20-2004, 02:57 PM i think if gardner has another bad game (not that it wasn't the whole offense)... then maybe give mccants a shot... but nobody has ammounted to much that much is obvious lifetimeskin 09-20-2004, 03:58 PM why not both active? Who is the fourth receiver? I understand Thrash for his ST effort, but who is fourth? SkinsRock 09-20-2004, 05:10 PM I believe Jacobs has been the fourth WR, but I don't think he has played a down....except maybe on special teams... CrazyCanuck 09-20-2004, 06:42 PM I'd like to see McCants involved more in the offense, ESPECIALLY near the goal line. The guy is big and grabs everything. Unlike someone else... SkinsRock 09-20-2004, 07:15 PM I'd like to see McCants involved more in the offense, ESPECIALLY near the goal line. The guy is big and grabs everything. Unlike someone else... Exactly... A red zone offense with Coles, Cooley, and McCants. If the ball is thrown anywhere near any one of them: Touchdown! With Portis or even Betts in the backfield, it's even better. Also, maybe if they bench Gardner for a game or two, he will actually work hard and finally play up to his potential to earn his job back. |
