What?!?!??!!? I cannot believe you know them. I went to high school with all of them. I played soccer with the bass player. I knew them at high school parties when they were Johnny Welfare and the Paychecks. My wife actually dated the drummer in middle school. She said his breath was like Alpo. We have pictures to prove it! LOL

Yeah I was listening to the Red Album but haven't picked up the Blue Album. That's cool. I can't name any people in bands except the dudes from GWAR. They're local and there've been a lot of different dudes in the band. I once told Glen Danzig to shave his head. He didn't appreciate that shit but I ain't skerred of him.

Drive-By Truckers
Ryan Adams & the Cardinals
WILCO
Raconteurs
The Dead Weather
the new live White Stripes kicks ass
Tom Petty's Highway Companion (2008 i think?) was incredible. instant classic that was probably overlooked/unnoticed by many. he's got a new one coming soon too.

there's an album by a band called Portugal the Man. album is called Satanic Satanist... now it's now speedmetal, it's actually kinda Beatlesque modern/alternative rock. just instantly likeable and addictive.

the new SPOON album is definitely good too.
2 albums by a band called Frightened Rabbit (weird name, i know).... but both Winter of Mixed Drinks and Midnight Organ Fight are great albums.

on the hip-hop tip:
of course Mos Def is the man.
cant wait for that new Roots album.
MethodMan, Ghostface and Raekwon just put out an album. short, but really good.
Raekwon's Cuban Linx 2 was/is awesome.
and for all you Wu fans... one little gem that got lost in the flood of solo albums over the years: Masta Killah's No Said Date is really really good.

I must be getting old because the only name I knew was Tom Petty and it would not surprise me if someone said "No the other Tom Petty".
