Chico23231 07-29-2010, 07:00 AM what's up peoples? long time no see.
Eminem and Big Boi are both really good for sure. Big Boi is better than i thought at first....
The Roots new one is really good.
also diggin Tom Petty, the Black Keys, new Band of Horses and a few other things i cant think of right now.
The Big Boi is solid...I spun the new Roots last week and was a little disappointed..............Ive been absolutely loving the new Black Keys album. Ill always hold Rubber Factory and the Magic Potion as my favs, but the Brothers sound is great.
Rainy Parade 07-29-2010, 07:38 AM i think Rubber Factory is still my favorite. new one might be in second already.
keep giving the Roots some time. it's a grower.
Chico23231 07-29-2010, 09:54 AM Anybody seen any good shows lately?...caught Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, several Phish shows, the new Sublime lineup, and some bluegrass stuff in the last month and half...looking forward to September: Black Keys, Ghostland Observatory, Widespread Panic (hopefully) and the free Virgin Music fest at Merrieweather which im going for only a couple bands, Ed Sharpe, Yeasayer, and one of the top bands of all time, Pavement. Im pissed im not going to Primus this weekend, going be in OBX
So far this summer I've been to Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews, and Kings of Leon. That should be it for a while, got tix for the Black Crowes in Oct.

Yeah a couple friends got tickets for the Black Crowes when they hit Richmond in Oct...on the fence...Drive By Truckers coming too around the sametime, gotta budget these days. Im still pissed I missed Alice in Chains when they rolled through Richmond, waited too long and the show sold out.
You see the story online about Kings of Leon getting sh*t on by all those pigeons in St. Louis the other day during their show? Pretty f*ing funny

The Crowes are going on a long hiatus after this tour, so I would catch them if you can.
Yeah pretty funny about KOL, gross too.
GhettoDogAllStars 07-29-2010, 10:32 AM Just saw String Cheese Incident at Red Rocks. I had never heard them before, but it was a good show at a great venue. Perfect weather, full moon.
I was also just introduced to Toubab Krewe and I'm digging it. Jammy rock with a nice African influence. Couple of drummers, guitarists, and a guy who plays a harp made out of a gourd.

No love for Thickfreakness? That's my favorite, and probably Chulahoma in second.

Saw String Cheese once...not bad, recently saw their old lead singer and the cat from Leftover Salmon play some high energy bluegrass. Both those bands from your area in Colorado. Toubab Krewe im yet to get into but heard their tight.....before I die I need to make it out to Red Rocks.
Red Rocks and The Gorge are two must see venues at the top of my list
