Hey I hate to cause more controversy, I am beggining to believe the Redskins are going to move up in the draft take a quarterback and let Leftwich play QB till Sanchez or Stafford are ready to take over. I just think that it is odd the way they are signing Leftwich and went after Cutler.

I just don't see this as even being a sparkle in Vinnie's eye. My guess is that if anything he wants to move down and get picks.

It wouldn't be a good move, but it would be fitting.

BTW, don't say "I hate to cause more controversy" when you are trying to cause controversy. Just jump right into it next time.

I certainly hope not. I don't see us getting any better by doing that.

Personally I doubt it.

Cutler hit the market and a lot of teams, not just the Skins, got their panties in a bunch.

I think it's back to reality time now though. Our best option is to go with JC and hope he can earn his big payday.

I don't think the FO has anything against JC necessarily. They just got stars in their eyes when Cutler was available.

JC has his head on strait IMO. When they attempted to get Cassel, Cutler got offended and threw a fit... JC just looked over at the chip that was already on his shoulder, and watched it grow. His determination and lack of crying and complaining should be a sign to all Redskins fans that we at least have a mentally sound QB that at least wants to play and will give his all to do what he can for the franchise. If he fails this season, we will all know that he simply does not have the skills/talent that we thought we were getting when we drafted him. This is what separates JC from Cutler, and Leftwich for that matter. In a contract year, after trying to be traded, (potentially) having a semi-talented wanna-be starter under him, and having shown he legitimately wants to play for us and give his all every team we play should be afraid. Determination does not win championships, but heart will prevail!

If you think JC has a slow release, Leftwich is even slower. Having him here to compete or even be a back up makes no sense at all, unless Coach Zorn completely cans his WCO.

He's not a west coast QB. He and Campbell are very similar. I like Leftwich more (I have been a fan ever since he played at Marshall... not like that whiney fag QB Marshall put out that plays for Miami now) but I don't think he'd be better than Campbell in this offense. Under Gibbs, I would've taken Leftwich as a starter in a heartbeat, though. I think he's a perfect power run/stretch it out QB, and he's probably better than Rothlesburger for Pittsburgh.

I like him here if JZ is gone because I like him a lot, but otherwise I think it's a waste of a roster spot. I could be wrong, but I think he didn't do well when the Jags changed their scheme...

I think that Leftwich is still a top 20 quarterback and would give us our best chance to win if Campbell went down. His only problem is he cant stay healthy and needs to change his delivery. I was watching the nfl network and they were saying that if he found the right coach he could change his delivery and still be a great quarterback. He is still young.

Seth Wickersham examines the art of being a backup QB - ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?id=4045554)

Pretty decent thread bout a quarterback accepting the fact he will be a backup.
Excerpt from it.

"First, he says, a backup has to be pure in his motives so that he earns the starter's trust. Only then does the No. 1 guy not feel threatened. For instance, last season Campbell, playing in his seventh offensive system in eight seasons going back to college, had a few questions about a pass-protection scheme, questions he was too embarrassed to ask. So Collins, being a friend first and a position rival second, asked the coaches for him. "It works much better when guys are working together on the same team," Collins says."
