Jason Reid just got off the phone with Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell, who said he met with owner Daniel M. Snyder, executive vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato and Coach Jim Zorn for two hours today at Redskins Park.
Redskins Insider - Campbell: Meeting "Very Successful" (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/campbell-meeting-very-successf.html)
Ijaeger 04-03-2009, 06:14 PM Well I guess everything's been laid out on the table. Boy, if walls could talk. I'd like to know exactly what was said. Hope it all pans out-all in all I suppose it sounds ok...but I won't hold my breath
SFREDSKIN 04-03-2009, 06:22 PM Basically Campbell probably said, "if I have a great year get ready to pay me through the teeth" or I might just become a FA. **** YOU very much!!
Dirtbag59 04-03-2009, 06:27 PM Ironically the Redskins are now showing the Broncos how you're suppose to handle this type of situation.

Restricted Free Agent.
Daseal 04-03-2009, 06:30 PM Actually, SFREDSKIN. We have a lot of tools to keep him from becoming an FA. Especially if the CBA ends up not getting renewed. In fact, if the CBA falls through teams get an extra transition tag and it makes it very difficult for players to even become FAs. The clubs will gain a ton of power by the CBA getting abolished.
I really don't see Campbell deserving of the upper level QB money unless he really shows a ton this year.
Ijaeger 04-03-2009, 06:38 PM I'm basically wondering if Snyderrato told Campbell and Zorn that if they are in it together then they'll be out of it together if we don't at least make the playoffs this year. And also if they told Campbell anything like "if you make it to the NFC championship or SB, THEN we'll pay you a hefty contract, otherwise you will have to settle for something in between until we find our guy...IF you want to remain a Redskin."

It probably went something like that .:)
KI Skins Fan 04-03-2009, 06:46 PM What a crock this whole thing turned out to be!
Jason Campbell should either be appointed Ambassador to North Korea because he is the greatest diplomat in America or he has to be the most naive football player in the NFL.
I cannot believe that Campbell didn't have his agent in that meeting! He must be out of his mind to go into that ridiculous meeting unrepresented. They tried to dump him, didn't they? They dropped the gauntlet. Campbell and his agent should have told management that it's on now.
As far as his agent is concerned, not being there borders on malpractice. Management could have promised Campbell any damn thing in that meeting and it means nothing! Campbell's agent should have gone into that meeting with a list of demands and any promises made by management should have been put on paper in the form of a legal agreement.
JC has them over a barrel, for goodness sake! Can't his stupid agent see that? Stupid, stupid, stupid!

I'm sure there will be talks prior to and during the season.

Well, it could be sort naivete or just faith/confidence on JC17's part that his talent will shine in the 2nd year of Zorn's offense and everything will take care of itself...which really is the bottom line wouldn't u say bro? If the kid has the kind of year some of us genuinely expect him to have Jason knows all this muck is irrelevant.
