It's sad that the upstanding character guys in sports like Jason Campbell are always the unpopular ones. You have head cases like TO, Chad Johnson, and Cutler throw tantrums and act like little kids, and they get all the attention from the media and the fans. Jason could have done many things and has chosen to be the better person, act like a professional, and move on.

Someone mentioned that JC should look out after himself financially and demand more money or go to another. Given the type of person that JC appears to be, I would imagine he's a responsible person that probably has wisely managed his money and is probably not hurting for money right now. Besides, JC probably realizes that the best way for him to improve his situation, is take advantage of next season to prove to the Redskins and the league that he can play the position and take it to the next level.

I'm surprised that Redskins fans don't remember how Art Monk carried himself throughout his career, and how he handled the whole situation of not being elected to the Hall of Fame.

Campbell is a class act that is not going to let the media know anything anyways. What was he supposed to say? We're going to get the same practice, preparation from JC as before. Let's hope JC rips up the NFL this year.

I don't think he'd be on the bench for long. IMO JC could walk in right now and start for SF, Jets, Buffalo, TB, Miami, Clev, Houston, Det and Minn.

Even if JC went to one of the teams on your list he would have to battle a guy who knows the offense better then he does and win the starting job. Otherwise he risks being on the bench in his contract year...that's way to big a risk to take. He needed to keep a cool head here...and to his credit he was able to do it.

And frankly I am too. I try not to say too much unless I feel strongly about it or I feel I'm right. I don't know if Campbell will ever be a great QB, but I know this, he doesn't deserve to be treated the way he's been treated by the fans. Campbell is not a bad QB yet he's treated like one by a lot of people. He deserves the chance to be in a system for more than one year to show what he can do. And I'm not talking about Saunders 700 page playbook that ended up being part what Saunders wanted and part what Gibbs wanted. I'm talking about a real system. I think he'll do well next year. If he doesn't, we don't resign him but he at least deserves the chance. If I was Campbell I probably would of been raising hell long time ago. "Will ya'll make up your mind what offense you want to run for crying out loud!" This is a case where I really hope the good guy wins. Some seem sure he's gonna fail, some seem sure he won't. I'd just like for him to have a clear cut chance to succeed. That's all any of us can ask for.

What a crock this whole thing turned out to be!

Jason Campbell should either be appointed Ambassador to North Korea because he is the greatest diplomat in America or he has to be the most naive football player in the NFL.

I cannot believe that Campbell didn't have his agent in that meeting! He must be out of his mind to go into that ridiculous meeting unrepresented. They tried to dump him, didn't they? They dropped the gauntlet. Campbell and his agent should have told management that it's on now.

As far as his agent is concerned, not being there borders on malpractice. Management could have promised Campbell any damn thing in that meeting and it means nothing! Campbell's agent should have gone into that meeting with a list of demands and any promises made by management should have been put on paper in the form of a legal agreement.

JC has them over a barrel, for goodness sake! Can't his stupid agent see that? Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Less agents the better imo. How does JC have them over the barrel? Supposedly Kyle Orton is more desirable then JC, though i personally wouldnt go that far. His only leverage will come from a stellar season this year, which we're all hoping for.

Moment of respect for Art Monk, and reflection on last year's HOF ceremonies. How great were they. Art truly deserved it.

And yes Art's character and handling of the previous HOF snubs are a great comparison for JC. I don't know that JC will ever be a HOF qb, but his character and commitment to doing the best he can do has risen to the top in my books. I hope he has a pro-bowl year, that our O-line holds and that us fans get to reap a year of Redskins Dominance!!!

Ironically the Redskins are now showing the Broncos how you're suppose to handle this type of situation.

Restricted Free Agent.

No, you mean Jason Campbell is showing the Redskins on "How to handle this type of Situation"!

No, both sides
Didn't the coach have a "you're my guy talk"
Didn't the owner and VP whatever meet right away and say this is what we did and why we did it
And JC showed true professionalism.

This was handled well on all sides - from what we know.

Hope KI Skins Fan reads this in response to his comments regarding Cambpell being in position to "have us over the barrel" and the whole agent bit.
