A big stretch. Imprisoned, gun charges, out of football, older than 33.
If DT/Kelly don't produce and we've traded away all of our picks, then next year we may be forced to pull up cheap high risk players such as Burress to fill spots at WR. But I hope not.

What's everyones thoughts on possibly bringing him in next year? Right now he's looking at an early 2011 release. Shanahan and Allen certainly don't mind bringing in guys with character issues (Jeremy Stevens, Travis Henry, Maurice Clarett, Brandon Marshall, Rizzolli & Isles). I figure that if Galloway can play at 39 then Burress can certainly play at 33.
non happening

By the time he is out of jail it will be forever since he played, practiced trained for football. Plus all of his bullshit drama...showing up late, missing practice and bad attitude who is going to put up with that at this point? His career is over.
Someone will give him a shot if he's serious about resuming his career. That said I wouldn't want to see him here.

The New York Post reports that Plaxico Burress is expected to be released from prison within "two or three weeks" for good behavior.
The Post cites a "person who has visited Burress at the Oneida Correctional Facility in Rome," so we'd take the report with a grain of salt. He's expected to join a work release program upon leaving prison. Though it remains unclear when Plax will be permitted to return to the NFL, Giants GM Jerry Reese said his club will "definitely investigate" a potential re-signing. Don't hold your breath on a quick signing, though. The Giants already have a deep receiving corps, and Plax doesn't play special teams. We still consider him a longshot to play in 2010.
