Giants release BurressSFREDSKIN 04-03-2009, 06:48 PM Plaxxico better get some lube, he's gonna need it. skinsfan69 04-04-2009, 12:15 AM Plaxxico better get some lube, he's gonna need it. dude you're sick. lol. Masshole 04-04-2009, 12:54 AM He's an AMAZING talent...there will be plenty of "takers"...and I'm willing to put a cool $100 on the fact that BOTH the Cowboys and Snyder / Cerrato have made a call to his agent...even though Snyderato would deny it. I see him as a lesser Terrell Owens. Too many problems to take. The Skins have enough to deal with without getting a guy that HATES to practice and "somehow" manages to shoot himself in the leg! I am curious, is he ACTUALLY going to jail for sure? If so, how long? Plaxico is NOT Terrell Owens. Sure, missing the end of the season is certainly a major drag on the team and has to be noted when evaluating him, but TO is a clubhouse cancer who has never jived with his teammates ('That's my QB' rant, notwithstanding). Plax has always been very well liked by his teammates, the problems he brings are mainly self-imposed. I mean, he was hanging out with his teammates the night he shot himself, can you imagine TO going to a club with 3 of the other guys on his team? I'm pretty sure he and Rothlesberger were roommates in Pittsburgh and Big Ben was pissed when the Steelers let him go. So again, I don't think he's the team killer that he's made out to be. So the question is, can he schedule his jail time around the season, and I don't seen any reason why he couldn't, looking at Jamaal Lewis as a precedent. It's true they're going to try and make an example out of him, but society certainly isn't served any better by him not playing football and earning 3 million for the year and then paying his debt after the season. There are only so many competent 6'5" receivers in the league, we'd be foolish not to consider adding him for a year on an incentive laden contract if he can play 12 games for us this year. mredskins 04-04-2009, 01:35 AM Plaxico is NOT Terrell Owens. I love your Screen Name growing up in RI anytime a Mass person cut us off, we would yell MASSHOLE, hahahahah! vallin21 04-04-2009, 02:44 AM IF Plaxico's legal troubles are behind him I'd sign him to a 1 yr deal with incentives. He went to high school in VA, he visits Redskins Park every offseason and knows the guys on the team and was friends w/ST. He could mentor the younger WR's and be a solid #2 for us. If his legal troubles are behind him and he makes some personal changes off the field SIGN HIM!! SBXVII 04-05-2009, 11:35 PM I wonder if they have work release? LOL. CRedskinsRule 04-06-2009, 08:42 AM Sorry, but to even look at Plax would be a little ridiculous. Every contract that we now write, includes wording to make the ota's etc as close to mandatory as possible, obviously that is important in our eyes. Plax has never done those willingly and I don't think that would change now. One point made was that TO never gelled with his teammates, but that is not true. He was a very well respected, but divisive person. He simply created a following within the locker room. Plax should not, and hopefully will not be a Skins player ever, He would be much better off in Cincinatti dmek25 04-06-2009, 09:02 AM there was probably a reason the steelers let him walk. there definitely was a reason the giants let him walk. talented, but way too much baggage. like said earlier, a lesser version of Owens. i say no way Giantone 04-06-2009, 10:58 AM IF Plaxico's legal troubles are behind him I'd sign him to a 1 yr deal with incentives. I'm pretty sure that if it was all behind him the Giants would have kept him. He's gonna do jail time ....how much I don't know and then the NFL will suspend him for a while ,the Giants had to move on for life without Plax he is 32, now wether that means a trade for a widout or taking a chance on the draft and developing someone ...I don't know but we had to move on.Burress has talent no question but he's not worth the headach. firstdown 04-06-2009, 11:10 AM He's an AMAZING talent...there will be plenty of "takers"...and I'm willing to put a cool $100 on the fact that BOTH the Cowboys and Snyder / Cerrato have made a call to his agent...even though Snyderato would deny it. I am curious, is he ACTUALLY going to jail for sure? If so, how long? Well from what I heard they tried to make some sort of plea deal and they got turned down. There is a good chance that he will do over 3 years which is the min. for his crime. I just don't see how he is going to get out of this and I think the Giants think the same thing and thats why they just released him. |
