Ok, so let's assume we take Smith/Oher at 13. Who would you hope falls to us in the 3rd round? It's too late to find a top DE or LB imo, but I see that as a prime spot to get one of the better Centers or Guards, someone who we could count on as a starter a year from now, after Buges has had a good while to scream obscenities at them in practice. We should be able to fill a need with this pick.
My hopeful 3rd rd picks would be:

Eric Wood, C, Louisville
6'3" 310lbs
Antoine Caldwell, C, 'Bama
6'3" 310
Either one of these guys would be an upgrade. Caldwell is more likely to actually be there in the 3rd. He is smart, a team leader, and if an O-lineman can start in the SEC for 4 years, that is almost like NFL experience. Also, if we took A. Smith in the 1st, the O-line would potentially be 3/5ths Crimson Tide!

Craig Urbik, OG, Wisconsin
6'5" 328
Herman Johnson, OG, LSU
6'7" 364
Urbik has 'Hog' written all over him, but Herman The House would be an interesting project for Bugel. Again, no O-lineman from small schools, a la Chad Rinehart. Nothing personal, but I want to see how these guys fared going against the kind of size and speed they will see in the pros. SEC, Big 10, Big 12, that is where to find O-lineman.

I'm not really big on college ball, but I did watch an LSU game and Herman Johnson stuck out to me...he's a beast. Could be an excellent pro with a little work.

Tyrone McKenzie would also be a nice pickup in the third. National Football League: NFL Draft 2009 - Tyrone McKenzie (http://www.nfl.com/draft/2009/profiles/tyrone-mckenzie?id=80729). Kyle Moore is another guy I like these days National Football League: NFL Draft 2009 - Kyle Moore (http://www.nfl.com/draft/2009/profiles/kyle-moore?id=71403#profiles-tabs:players-analysis). Either way I hope the report of the Skins being in love with Ayers isn't true unless they get a good enough trade down where they can walk away with Ayers and an OT preferably my newest man crush Eben Britton. Still with the way Vinny was talking about Smith I would suspect that he's ranked as high as 2 on the overall draft board. Aaron Curry's probably number 1 with Crabtree as high as 3.

Ditto, Tyrone Mckenzie, perfect fit at OLB and a real need pick

i have a strong feeling we are taking cushing at 13, unless andre smith is there (doubtful)

This will be a huge downer for me...but I guess Cushing could surprise and turn out to be a legit NFL LB. I just doubt it very much.

Yeah, early on I thought he was a great linebacker - but now I don't really think that he is good enough to be picked up at 13. There are other players that can make much more of an impact who would be available.

Plus while the draft is technically deeper at Tackle. The fact remains that pretty much all the good tackles will be gone by the time we pick in the third round. OLB's though will last till our pick in the 3rd.

Im highly skeptical of Cushing, his numbers in college arent great, and his history of injuries is a huge red flag...Weve already got Rocky with the bad knees,Im shooting for a cant miss at OLB....McKenzie's number were in the top at OLB, before and after he tranfered to UCF 114 tackles in "07 and 116 in "08...thats production....

Gus Parish (OT Kent State) doesn't seem to bad. Strong, smart, and durable. Just a little rough with his technique. Still I'd like someone that can play LT should we lose Samuals and any of the guys with first round grades can do that.
