I guess that they forgot that every team does this and they had absolutely no chance of re-signing him

Report: Tennessee Titans ask NFL to investigate if Albert Haynesworth was contacted early by Washington Redskins - ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4035877)

The Tennessee Titans (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=ten) have asked the NFL to consider tampering charges against the Washington Redskins (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=was) in the signing of free agent defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=3543), The (Nashville) Tennessean (http://www.tennessean.com/article/20090402/SPORTS01/904020373/1002/SPORTS) reported, citing unnamed sources familiar with the situation.

According to the report, the Titans did not file a formal grievance with the NFL over the Redskins' quick agreement with Haynesworth, which was reached just hours after the league's free agent period began. Instead, the team provided the league with newspaper articles and audio from a Washington, D.C.-area radio station -- evidence the Titans say implies Washington had improper contact with Haynesworth before free agency began at 12 a.m. on Feb. 27.

The NFL indicated to the Titans that it planned to look into the allegations, according to the report.

cool, they gave them some newspaper clippings, maybe they linked them to some skins forums too!

Thank you for posting this...anything other than Cutler is a welcome discussion for me. With that said, I don't think the Titans can prove a damn thing so this is probably not an issue.

HAIL!

Sounds like the evidence they're using is Rock's radio interview where he said that he's heard the Skins have been talking to Haynesworth.

Oh yeah, the kick returner of every team is always the first person on any team to go after for inside information. :D

Rock probably read it on our forum here that we should go after Haynesworth.

Non-story. Won't go anywhere. The article doesn't even say they're coming after us. The Titans are asking the NFL if they want to consider looking for something against us. The ball hasn't even started rolling yet and probably won't. The Titans have not even filed for any investigation, looks like they're just seeing if they can throw something at us that sticks before putting anything in writing with the league. Hey, if our team lost the best D-lineman in the league, I'd be bitter too.

The Packers actually had some real evidence against Minnesota about tampering with Favre last season and it didn't do anywhere. The Titans have nothing here, oh, except that the kick returner "heard" we might be after Big Al.

Oh, I never heard that one.. that's a pretty bonehead move by Rock

all speculation though.. the meetings with the agent would be more against us, and even then, we have at least one player represented by that agent

great, I'll just bump a thread that's a couple months old about speculation that they could pursue charges, but said that they weren't focused on it at the time

that'd be interesting!

you guys have too much of a hard-on for that..

Better than posting a new thread with no REAL news in it.

the real news is that they've requested it to be investigated, sorry if that's not new, but in my world, it's more than just speculation now
