I heard on Profootballtalk that we were goin for the one to punch what do you think? I have to say it's intriguing, although I'm not a big Shanahan fan.

This is mistake #1, and why don't you wait until an actual trade happens before you start speculating this, ok?

This site is annoying me lately.

God forbid we give Campbell more than one season in a system and Zorn more than one year to improve on an 8-8 rookie campaign in the league's toughest division.

The lack of patience and foresight is silly as hell.

People scream to build through the draft, improve the lines, develop Campbell, yada yada yada. So now that we're doing just that, we've got droves of fans asking for us to revert to our losing ways - shipping off draft picks and big dollars for flashy names.

Continuity and character count people.

Amen to that! I've been saying the same thing all along. We're not Philly fans...we're better than that. Yet, the tone lately has sounded very Eagle-ish.

BOTTOM LINE:
Campbell is a tough football player who lets nothing bother him. Cutler is a bitch. Which one do you want? The end.

What has Shanahan done since Elway retired anyway?

HAIL!

I agree with what you are saying. Getting Cutler would cost us a lot, and JC is a stand up guy, but I think we have already seen the most we will get out of him. That is why I kill GTripp and co with the Frerotte comparisons. Not really comparing the QBs but the situation. I was always hoping Gus would turn some corner, same with Patrick, but after a few seasons(Patrick got ganked) you know what you are going to get for the long haul. I just don't see us being a perennial contender unless JC does surprise us and really does have a breakout year for us. But the odds of that happening are long.

1) I'm not offended

2) I wasn't singling you out, notice I said "fans" - there are plenty of people around here asking for Cutler, Shanahan, etc, etc

3) If you start a thread like this and ask for opinions, well, you're going to get them.
