GusFrerotte 04-01-2009, 10:03 PM IMO this may be your best post ever Gus. Hail!
Some guys think I am a Jason hater, I cheer for him, and want him to succeed. Thing is after being a Skins fan(football fan) for a long time you get to spot things that seem to be trends. Jason is a good QB, but unless you really stack the deck with regards to the offense I am thinking that he won't really "breakout" like we have been hoping for. GTripp thinks I am comparing just the QBs talents with me talkiing about Gus and JC, but it is not just that, it is the fact that a lot of us hoped Gus could breakout as well as Patrick. Maybe he(Jason) will this season and I will look like an ass, but IMHO I think we have pretty much seen what we are going to be getting out of him already. Keep JC around and if he is just average(nothing really special) let him go and go with Colt. I am not sold on Colt either and that is why I think if we want to make a big move, it will be to try and secure either McCoy or Bramford in the 2010 draft. Doing this Cutler thing will cost us at least one first rounder, maybe two, or other multiple picks. We need first rounders to build around. The NFC East isn't the AFC West and Cutler might get killed here. A very big risk!!!

Well said Gus.

On the flip, we've parted ways with guys who have gone on to pretty nice careers elsewhere - Brad Johnson, Rich Gannon, Trent Green....
There's a Super Bowl winner, Super Bowl runner up, and league MVP amongst those three names...

SFREDSKIN 04-01-2009, 11:24 PM Before anyone starts speculating on getting Cutler and Shanahan, how about letting Zorn coach this year? Screw Shanahan and Cutler, I would rather have Dungy if Zorn has a bad year and is fired..
GusFrerotte 04-01-2009, 11:27 PM Gus is mentioned G, just because he is the only post Rypien QB that was around long enough to evaluate over more than 3 seasons worth of play. I also use him because I really liked him and like Patrick, and JC, I was really hoping him to be our next franchise guy. Unfortunately disappointment abounds in Skinsland with regards to finding that ever elusive franchise guy. JC still can become that QB, but he really needs to step it up to a whole other level to get me convinced.
djnemo65 04-01-2009, 11:27 PM This is for you Ek .... This is the best thread ever! And you are my best friend!
tryfuhl 04-02-2009, 12:03 AM This site is annoying me lately.
God forbid we give Campbell more than one season in a system and Zorn more than one year to improve on an 8-8 rookie campaign in the league's toughest division.
The lack of patience and foresight is silly as hell.
People scream to build through the draft, improve the lines, develop Campbell, yada yada yada. So now that we're doing just that, we've got droves of fans asking for us to revert to our losing ways - shipping off draft picks and big dollars for flashy names.
Continuity and character count people.
What's a Redskins offseason without speculation? If it weren't for these threads the board would be dead. Not that I want lots of offseason moves to keep the board busy..
tryfuhl 04-02-2009, 12:04 AM We are already talking about this in the other thread, do we really need this?
to keep the threads from being 4 diff subjects and show more activity on the board, I'd think that'd be a good idea personally

Been there, tried that, dude don't even waste your time.
