Smokescreen is potentially a possiblity being that we're close to the draft.
Could this all be a smoke screen to get teams to think that we're interested in QB with our 13th overall draft pick to find to teams trade up to our 13th overall pick so we can trade down and get additional picks?
That would reinstate my faith in the FO if they were doing that. Otherwise those guys are your run of the mill dumbasses.
Actually, didn't think of that and you could be right. We have played that game before.
I was hoping the Campbell trade rumor from yesterday was an April Fool's joke, because it felt like one.

If they do trade Campbell and Rogers for Cutler, the skins should also ask for a 4th rounder in return.
No, we need a kicker in return.

This would be a very risky move. Cutler is not a sure thing. Cutler and the Broncos went 8-8 last year just like we did and they play in the shitty AFC West. Four very win-able game against the Raiders and Chiefs, it is not a surprise Cutler threw for a ton of yards, those defense suck.....and they still went 8-8? How is this guy an improvement
I think it really comes down to what we would have to give up to get him. The #13 pick in this draft? HELL NO! We don't have a 2nd rounder this year and the Broncos will want something right away. Our 1st rounder next year? NO!
From reading the articles in all the reliable papers today it appears Daniel Snyder has the fever for Cutler. When Snyder gets that fever he sometime does regrettable things.
It is like when I get the fever to buy a great car or house. Sometimes you have to step away from the negotiating table and come to your senses before pulling the trigger on a big deal.

I put little value on Cutler's "Pro Bowl" status. The voting was held before Denver's meltdown in the last month and really, other QBs like Rivers or Pennington were more deserving.
The Pro Bowl doesn't mean a whole lot. Is London Fletcher a bad LB because he's never been voted/chosen for a Pro Bowl? He's been one of the league's best LBers for a decade, but no Pro Bowl honors, which is a joke.
Check out Cutler's second-half game log from last season:
Jay Cutler - Denver Broncos - Game Log - NFL - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/7760/gamelog)
7 INTs and just 6 TDs in the last 6 games, QB rating of 78.15 over those games down the stretch...at least one pick in 13/16 games.
That's Pro Bowl material?
I agree the pro bowl is garbage...I just think he's shown a lot of promise at a young age. You can't play with the stats all you want to make Campbell look just as promising but when you watch the games you see that he's just not. If Cutler were not available I would want to see what Campbell could do this year but Cutler being available changes that in my mind.

There will be other guys available next year.
Funny you say you are tired of being unstable at QB yet you want another QB change. Just sayin'.
Haha..nice one. I think this saga pretty much proves that a change is coming in the next 12 months regardless. I just think if it's Cutler then it could be the last change for a long while.

Cutler: "I really didn't want this!" (WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!)
Cutler: "I really didn't want this" - The Denver Post (http://www.denverpost.com/sportsheadlines/ci_12051842?source=rss)
"I was surprised they decided to trade me this soon," Cutler told FoxSports. "I didn't want to get traded. That wasn't me. They had been going back and forth saying things, wanting me to be their quarterback, and then they didn't. I really didn't want this. I love Denver. I really like my teammates. I didn't want it to get this far."
I'm glad the Jets are now considered to be "aggressively" pursuing this baby too. Hopefully they can beat us out for him. Tampa Bay could get him too, as they almost did in the original trade that started this drama.
Jets "prepared to enter a bidding war". :)
Jets show they are Mile High about Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler (http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/2009/04/01/2009-04-01_jets_show_they_are_mile_high_about_bronc.html)
Can we actually afford Cutler under the cap? Campbell makes very little for a starting QB.

I changed my mind, since Cutler can obviously play Corner (assuming we trade 'Los), Defensive End, OT, Guard and Center, while platooning at 3rd down back I think we need to make this happen yesterday. Whatever the price is, double it, we're all in!

I said no to Cutler because the cost will be to much and we have two many needs. That's unless they have a good RT,DE and OLB to throw in to the trade! Then I am a yes!

This is insane.
We are still weeks away from the draft and we are hot to trade for this guy?
Snyder needs to a vacation.
