Nflnick11 04-01-2009, 11:24 PM I hope that this whole cutler situation is just a big April fools joke that bowlen, florio, and snyder are in on...haha you got me..haha?!? BleedBurgundy 04-01-2009, 11:29 PM This really can't happen this quickly. It just doesn't make sense from the Broncos' perspective. Why would they take any deal now instead of spending the next few weeks trying to drive up the market? We're not going to learn anything anytime soon. Let's all hope that one of these other teams overwhelms them with compensation we can't match. But who, other than El Snyder, would do that? Skinny Tee 04-01-2009, 11:30 PM The only way I'm going to like this is if we get additional picks with Cutler. If we get their first in exchange for ours and then come away with a 2nd rounder I wouldn't mind whoever is QB. None of that will happen however because that's extremely lopsided. My only hope is that we come away with additional picks in this year's draft. God bless Campbell for putting up with this kind of crap, professionally speaking. SFREDSKIN 04-01-2009, 11:31 PM Redskins Insider - Redskins Trying to Land Cutler (Update 2) (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/redskins-trying-to-land-cutler.html#more) Ruhskins 04-01-2009, 11:36 PM This really can't happen this quickly. Well they are idiots in the Broncos FO too, Denver could get the #1 overall pick from the Lions (among other things), they could get Brady Quinn, Shaun Rogers and a ton of picks from Cleveland, they could get a lot of picks from the Jets, etc., etc. But they are going to want to send him to the NFC, and since stupid Danny wants him, they'll trade him for less. tryfuhl 04-01-2009, 11:37 PM Yeah, that seems odd. They interviewed Campbell, who as you mentioned is at the game. I love his classy response - "That's just he business end of the game. I'm not worried about all that. I'm just preparing to have what I think will be my best season as a pro." Did you hear that Cutler? That's how a man handles these things. I'm sure behind the scenes Jason wants to know exactly what's going on, but he's handling it in house, which is exactly where it should stay. I caught the tail end where he said that he's not worried and knows what he can deliver for the team, what he can offer in 5-10 years, etc great responses, I honestly think that cutler probably has a better future ahead of him than campbell, but I love the way that campbell interviews... interviews don't win games, but he's the type of guy that you can always rely on to keep things the way that they should be BleedBurgundy 04-01-2009, 11:38 PM Well they are idiots in the Broncos FO too, Denver could get the #1 overall pick from the Lions (among other things), they could get Brady Quinn, Shaun Rogers and a ton of picks from Cleveland, they could get a lot of picks from the Jets, etc., etc. But they are going to want to send him to the NFC, and since stupid Danny wants him, they'll trade him for less. I get your logic, but let me respond with this question: When the hell have we ever gotten ANYTHING for "less?" We always pay double, that's just how we roll. SOUL-SKINS 04-01-2009, 11:39 PM Wow...just wow. I think the FO has already bungled this thing, maybe beyond repair as far as JC's future in Washington is concerned. I mean the difference between us and NY Jets/Tampa Bucs is we have a guy set to be the starting QB...much more complicated. Those teams can pursue w/o necessarily throwing a current member of the franchise under the bus. ...personally I think this is so unfair to JC and if the FO is stupid enough to blow up the offense again i hope Campbell has tremendous success wherever he lands. I'll never support Cutler here seeing how he's handled himself...ever. Dude, you're kidding right. According to NFL.com just about 65% of people who voted in the Denver VS Cutler poll agreed with Cutler....and so do I. I'll welcome him with open arms. Sometime in the near future, maybe not next year you will be in full support of Cutler (If he lands with the skins) tryfuhl 04-01-2009, 11:40 PM JLC weighs in - apparently we're looking to move JC to another team for a 2nd rounder to acquire more picks to send to Denver. If true it would confirm SmootSmack's suspicion of a 3 team deal. Redskins Insider - Redskins Trying to Land Cutler (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/redskins-trying-to-land-cutler.html) "I was definitely looking forward to being in the same offense for another year and seeing what we could together," Campbell said. "Being in a different system almost every year, you just don't get as comfortable as when you're in the same system for a lot of years. It's just different." Am I reading this wrong (or too far into it) or does he EXPECT to be traded? tryfuhl 04-01-2009, 11:42 PM I feel bad about letting JC go if this is true but the fact of the matter is that when you get a chance to land a true franchise QB you take it. Some people will say that JC and Cutler are just 2 points apart on QB rating, well the fact of the matter is Cutler threw for an extra 1,000 yards and most of his interceptions were when the team was behind. Either way I think it's clear that Cutler is the superior QB. Part of me is excited about this if it's true, but I don't want to lose any of our core guys with Cooley and Landry. Also if this is true I think the team is now looking back on the guys they missed. Opting for Brunell over Warner and even Campbell over Brees in 2006. had nearly top touchdown amount in 4th too |
