KI Skins Fan 03-21-2009, 04:54 PM honestly it depends on how much better than best player is over a need.
if you got surefire elite talent like a crabtree or raji that falls, you take them though, always.
If we somehow get B.J. Raji I think I might make a fool of myself celebrating. Can you imagine a tandem of Haynesworth and Raji at DT?
Nah, there's no way we'll get that lucky.
KI Skins Fan 03-21-2009, 04:56 PM Here's a situation where I could justify stepping outside our needs:
1) Aaron Curry
2) Jason Smith
3) Everette Brown
4) Eugene Monroe
5) Brian Orakpo
6) BJ Raji
7) Michael Crabtree
8) Malcolm Jenkins
9) Andre Smith
10) Alex Mack
11) Michael Oher
12) Tyson Jackson
In this case (and pretty much exclusively this case), I don't like any of the available options, so Wells or Davis would be fine (I would question heavily what Davis/Malcolm Jenkins means for the future of the CB position, though, so less them than Wells).
If I'm drafting in this situation, I'm taking Eben Britton or Brian Cushing though, but given those options, I'd be less pissed with a pick of like Beanie Wells or Percy Harvin or something.
What about Maualuga?

Well you never know who will make a mistake between 1-12 that will cause such a good player to fall to us. There are other incompetent FO out there you know. ;)

LOL! Let's hope so.
GTripp0012 03-21-2009, 05:31 PM What about Maualuga?Well, he'd fall in the BPA category.
Given the scenario, I wouldn't complain with Maualuga either. He just wasn't on your list.
budw38 03-21-2009, 06:20 PM I think drafting Crabtree would be a big mistake . Many WR's put up numbers like he did in a passing style offences and do nothing in the NFL < Spurries Fla. Wr's come to mind >. Besides , unless we upgrade the OL , we can't get the ball to our WR's . I hope like hell that a DE or T is the choice at 13 < or trade down > . I would take J.Perry / Mack or Rey M. before wr . Now , if Harvin fell into rd 2 and we traded down , I could live with that ,,,,,, but ,,,,,,, draft ,,,,, OL ,,, DL ,,,, OL ,,,,, DL ,,,, LB :)

Yes I can. WOW. :)
Eknox 03-21-2009, 07:17 PM Wow Beannie and Portis one two punch, that really makes you wonder how that would work, saying he's the best available. I believe we should take the best available at a position of need, and someone that will impact the game Percy or Beannie would do that, but not Percy at 13..that would help the 12 points a game I think..

So long as it's not a kicker. lol.
Putting some thought to it. We picked up Dockery. That alone has helped one side of the line. I would like to see us pick up a decent sized Center, G, and RT. Even if they don't make it to be a starter right away atleast we are getting younger.
Then I thought ....well our O-line played lights out the first half of the yr. Our problems came with injuries. If we can build through the draft or FA and keep the injuries to a minimum we should do well the whole yr.
So having said that I think our O-line is not as bad as some believe and if they were to have a WR, RB, CB, DT, fall to us I think you take him. So long as they are of exceptional talent. I can't see us picking a TE simply cause he's BPA..we already have Cooley and supposedly someone of similar talent in Davis.

Why does everyone have Beanie rated higher then Knowshon. I clearly think that Knowshon is the far better back.
