You may belive that they will produce because of quality QB play, but IMO THEY (WR's) will make the QB just look good.

Besides what will happen when Vinny gets hit hard and breaks a hip? Is Drew ready?

Tony Romo is our 2nd string QB...he won the job based on the last 2 preseason games...Parcells prefers Romo's addition year in his system

And if Vinny gets hurt, especially early, we're done

The good thing if he gets hurt early is we could potentially be looking @ 2 top 10 picks in the draft, considering the prospects of the Bills

we own their 1st rounder next year

it does suck that you have two first round pick for next year. If Jones was the back you wanted then it was a godo move. IMO Jones didnt look overly impressive in college football last year. He did look better than Chirs Perry though, not sure what Marvin was thinking there. I would bet that the cowboys and bills both get early teens draft choices next year. Could give you the option of trading up for a potential stud. You had some high draft choice for a few years in a row and they are starting to come into their own, a few more could really beef up your team

but in terms of what this thread is about, I dont think stats matter at all in the dallas skins rivalry. Honestly I would love for us to sweep the cowboys this year, but I wouldnt mind if we got back into the old routine of just splitting with yoru everyyear. That is what seemed to always happen no matter what the records or personnel

Nice job week one gentlemen taking care of business...

One question...after you guys stifle the vaGiants this weekend, are you guys ready to face an NFL caliber offense? :silly:

Yo dude, Dallas has serious issues on both sides of the ball. Although I think D is lot better than what they showed in 1st game, but the LB are undersized + DL has pass rushing issues and secondary is banged up.

On offense you have a 40 year old QB, who is one hit (LaVar) away from ending his career. The top RB in George, who I think is way past his prime. Others Jones n all are too young and without any experience. On WR's front Keshawn just has a big mouth, and has practically nothing left in him. In Tampa where they ran West Coast (WR friendly) he did absolutely nothing. So how can u rate Dallas as NFL caliber Offense?

Putting yards in the first week doesn't mean it will happen every week. Let Testeverde come to DC and let LaVar give him a ferocious hit and end a career for another Cowboy QB.

+ Although I have picked Dallas to win this week in my Pick’em league, I seriously doubt if they will. If Browns can manhandle Baltimore then they can certainly handle Dallas.

Comparison
Baltimore D (Ray Lewis and Co) > Dallas D
Baltimore O (Edge with rushing, but questionable passing) > Dallas O (No edge)

The key to stopping the Giants is gonna be Kurt Warner. Williams will give him different looks and confuse him. We all know what happens to Warner when he gets confused, he holds on to the ball, and then we crush him. You are right though, the key is stopping their running game, and getting then into 3rd and long.

The Vikings blitzed a lot on Vinny last weekend, but was hit only a few times and sacked once when we rolled out, had all day to throw, but waited too long and took the sack..In all honesty, Vinny had the ball 6 seconds

Our OL is the antithesis of last year, but we will be a little thin this week with Gurode and Walter out.

Thankfully, we have Matt Lehr, a 16 game starter last year replacing him in the line up.

Walter, a 6th round pick 2 years ago was a revelation in TC and was the starter in last weeks game...but he split time with Al Johnson and is bascally a co-starter with Johnson, last years 2nd rounder

Johnson is more mobile in the run game and is a better run blocker so no huge loss there either..

However, is Lehr or Johnson get hurt this game, we are in serious truoble without Gurode, Walter or Peterman, who was lost for the year with a torn ACL and MCL the last preseason game

Every carry George gets, INHO, is a wasted down..he's too slow and the agility and elusiveness he once had is gone

We can and will get Lee and Jones much more involved as the season progress when Lee and JJ can do an adequate job in pass protection

the pass protection issue is why George and Anderson get the most snaps

Dallas an NFL caliber offense?

You'll see last week was no fluke this weekend

Your fantasy pick was solid but look closer Portis--comparing our O to the Ravens O is foolhardy

In '03, the Ravens had the 21st ranked offense overall and the dead last passing attack in the league.

Then, they lost their best WR, Marcus Robinson to the Vikes (just not fair!!)..they lost out on the TO sweepstakes because TO is a whiny b!tch

They replaced Robinson (and potentially TO) with 2 no-name rookies

Boller simply just hasnt progressed..a combination off poor WR talent and the fact he is obviously on the slow end of the learning curve picking up Billicks offense

To top it off, the Browns were without their future HOF LT in Ogden last week

This allowed the Browns to run a 4 DL, 4 LB fset

No threat of a running game and lousy pass protection without Ogden(kennard Lang 3 sacks vs Ethan Brooks, Ogden's replacement), no WR worthy of mention and a QB who, to this point sucks.

Dont be deceived by the Browns defense...they're very ordinary

their offense will make some plays against our D, but they wont win

Yea, I agree Brows D is just ordinary but they still need some recognition as they didn't let Jamal run them over. No NFL game is free lunch and I think Brows can match up to Dallas.

But as much as I hate saying this I think dallas will win this one.

Sure I'll give the Browns credit...they used a 4-4-3 alignment as a base D...8 men in the box at all times...total disregard for the Ravens passing game because they saw on film what everyone knows

The Ravens passing O is the worst in football..and that trend continues

If the Browns do the same to us..well..its gona be ugly

Is Jones going to get some significant work this week?

I'm thinking of starting him on one of my fantasy teams.
