70Chip 03-18-2009, 12:31 AM You'd be surprised, I'm surprised, at how many teams want The Colt. Everyone, well a lot of people, think they can make him a star if they could just spend a couple of years developing him.
If you were thinking of dealing Colt, obviously now would not be the time to do it. We have to see how Campbell does this season, no? If Campbell is strong you re-up him and then entertain offers. If not you part ways with Jason and the Brennan era begins.
And what's so great about Cutler? Didn't they el foldo at the end of the season?

GusFrerotte 03-18-2009, 12:43 AM That DC Examiner article seemed to indicate Snyder thought JC was timid, etc. Brennan isn't going anywhere if this stuff plays out to be true. Like I said above the same article said the source mentioned KC as a possible 3rd party. KC could use a solid starter in JC. Problem is doesn't Cooley have a no trade clause? That alone would prove the Cleveland story isn't valid and mean Landry or someone else of value is going bye bye.

Seriously. Denver had 2 different 3 game losing streaks last year, missed the playoffs and Cutler threw 18ints. He's a good QB, but come on. All this sh*t is over the top. I wonder what Campbell's numbers would look like if he played the AFC West twice a year instead of the NFC East.
GusFrerotte 03-18-2009, 12:48 AM GTripp,
What do you make of all of this? The Profootballtalk story seems to be too frigging wild to be believeable, but the other link to the DCexaminer seems to corroborate at least half of it, just doesn't have Cleveland in the equation. Sounds like Snyder didn't think Campbell had a big enough cannon or ego.

I agree, but I think Cutler is more flashy than JC, and probably to be honest has more raw talent. The Danny loves his flash!!!!!
skinsfaninok 03-18-2009, 12:56 AM I agree also, and I like JC But Cutler was a Pro Bowler and Campbell seems like he doesn't take enough shots down field (Play Calls Also). Cutler had a good year... if it was JC FOR JC I woudn't have a problem, but this 3team deal crap is crazy! And Don't trust VC He also said we wouldn't be in the market for Haynesworth.
GusFrerotte 03-18-2009, 12:59 AM We would have to give our first and our third if we were lucky. Probably Campbell, our first this year and our first next year. I am willing to do either.
Are you kidding me? No way dude!!!!! I maybe could see us giving Denver a low round pick, but 2 First rounders? Cutler is a hot commmodity because of his potential. Nobody is going to give up 2 first rounders for "potential"!!!!!!! Besides the one article says that Denver wants a straight up trade, no picks.

The idea of trading Brennan makes me queazy*. I'd prefer to have a better idea of what exactly we would be letting go of. He could be an MVP. He probably isn't but I know I couldn't pull the trigger if it were me running the show. Not right now.

Not sure why the third team would be needed, unless Denver does want a new TE. I am pretty sure Cooley has a no trade clause in his deal, so maybe KC or whoever is going to provide them with that TE. Who knows what will transpire, but it sounds like Snyder wants Cutler. Jason probably will flourish in the AFC West.
