SmootSmack 03-20-2009, 10:11 AM Hmm, zcezcest1, who comments on the Redskins Insider blog, says that he has inside info that they are going after Cutler and trying to orchestrate a three-way deal with Denver, Zona, and the Redskins. If Cutler comes here, Shanahan will be hired. Campbell and someone else(One was with Cooley, but it can't be him due to the cap hit) goes to Arizona, and Leinart goes to Denver along with someone else or draft picks.
Whoever his source is, I don't know. He may be being fed dummy info, or it's true...
If a trade went down maybe Shanahan would be part of it since he's still under contract for another three years to the Broncos and they'd want to be compensated for letting him go
But anyway, I think at the end of the day Cutler isn't our starting QB come the season opener
Funny how these no-name posters have "inside info" that guys like Clayton and Schefter don't.
Did Cutler get spotted at a local D.C. Cheesecake Factory or something?
I will say, a number of things we have done in the past have made NO sense to me. BUt.........this Cutler deal is WAY out there, or at least I hope it is. It would not be the way to BUILD a contender. I hope we are past this sort of thing. And I think we are
SirClintonPortis 03-20-2009, 11:19 AM Yeah it sounds crazy, but zcezcest1's other posts show that he's more of down to earth guy(analyzing o-line woe, Taylor playing in the wrong position, etc). I wouldn't be surprised at Danny falling head-over-heels over the Cutler and Shanahan duo and making an effort to get Cutler though. He's always wanted an 'exciting' offense. That's why he wanted Spurrier in the first place.

Shanahan was fired there would be no compensation they would just be off the hook for his salery, he can work for whoever he wants.

Good point
skinsfan_nn 03-21-2009, 02:42 PM This is the multi-million dollar question/poll.....keep up the good work. ;)
If I only had a magic ball......Never mind, I'll call Vinny!
GTripp0012 03-21-2009, 02:53 PM I'm surprised this even required a poll. Fan dissension is one thing, the notion that the Redskins actually might consider getting a guy who is not Jason Campbell to play QB next year is pretty absurd. The only thing that's out there is the sort-of-unnecessary Leftwich talk.
Speaking of which, it might be time to consider bringing Leftwich here in a backup's role. Todd Collins' contract is an issue, yes, but he's probably never seeing the field again as a Redskin, so his roster spot is pretty valuable right now.
budw38 03-21-2009, 03:12 PM Well what are you gonna, make it public that your trying to trade your starting QB. I mean what kind of stupid GM would let that hit the press.(cough..cough... Denver)
Cough ,,,cough , funny . Lets face it , if we score 23 pts per game / or more , JC will be a Skin for many years . Should we struggle to score td's , than bringing in another QB is likely . Coaches and the QB are the guys that have to produce , period . Good coaches win with lesser talant and through injuries , and great QB's find ways to win the close games . Having one more year in the offence and a probable upgrade at OL still to come , we should be much better ,,,,, or heads will roll .
Zerohero 03-21-2009, 08:00 PM I've probably come off negative in my short time on these forums, but I'm really looking foward to JC playing great this year. Funny thing is JC plays great and we'll have to give him a ton of money as compared to if we had given him an extension now.
