GusFrerotte 03-19-2009, 11:43 PM Any reliable source such as Schefter or Clayton have said they have heard nothing about the Redskins being interested. So until one of those guys says anything different, these are worthless internet rumors.
Probably right, but it sure does generate interest/excitement in an otherwise boring part of the offseason doesn't it?

We'd have to definitely give up at least this year's first round pick, maybe more picks, and also Campbell in order to land Cutler. Anyone who is excited about that isn't thinking straight IMO. We have too many other needs to waste our time with this crap.

I'm with you man.
SirClintonPortis 03-20-2009, 02:53 AM Hmm, zcezcest1, who comments on the Redskins Insider blog, says that he has inside info that they are going after Cutler and trying to orchestrate a three-way deal with Denver, Zona, and the Redskins. If Cutler comes here, Shanahan will be hired. Campbell and someone else(One was with Cooley, but it can't be him due to the cap hit) goes to Arizona, and Leinart goes to Denver along with someone else or draft picks.
Whoever his source is, I don't know. He may be being fed dummy info, or it's true...

This makes no sense. Zona just paid big money to keep Warner, why bring a starting QB like JC along, to keep Warner on a short leash? And why would Denver bring in a young QB that will need development and has some question marks. I know that I'm not for this, but something like this would make our FO look like genius and make Denver's look like Matt Millen.
SirClintonPortis 03-20-2009, 03:04 AM I would guess that Campbell will be a backup. Then again, having Larry Fitz to throw would be very tempting if I were a QB, even as a backup...Plus, Warner's old and won't be playing for long.
He says that Mcdaniels believes that he can develop any QB. Cassel was Leinart's backup, soooo...
Also, Zorn stays, but is demoted to offensive coordinator.

Someone should tell McDaniels that he doesn't have Randy Moss, Wes Welker, a good offensive line, and a top 10 defense. All these things helped Matt Cassel (oh and Darth Hoody).

Yeah, but Denver's not that bad on offense, actually. Brandon Marshall had 100+ receptions last year, Eddie Royal is a stud(and pretty humble too), and Stokley is a possession receiver in the slot. They also have a stud LT in Clady. Cutler was also sacked 12 times last year. Now, some of it was Cutler's ability to buy some time, but even the best of play extenders don't go a whole year with only 12 sacks(unless your Brett Favre in 2004).

Yeah but their defense sucks. You are right, they do have talent at WR. I just don't know why McDaniels would pick Cassel over Cutler. You can only get so far with a "system" QB.

Solution....bring Fitz here.
