So Keith Davis wants to be a Redskin. I have always been a fan of this guy. A real Beast on special teams, a heavy hitter with a ton of upside. I think he would be much better in reserve than Doughty. And the second rumor has the Gmen wanting to trade up for a wideout, one of the top 3 should fall to us, and they have 2 second rounders, we could'nt ask for a better scenerio in my opinon. Only downside is if the WR they pick torches us for the next 10 years :madani:Any thoughts?

Every smart player would say they're "talking" to us. Our Owner gives huge deals to average players.

I really like Davis and hope he returns to Dallas. But the skinny on him is he has always wanted to be a starting safety and not strictly relief and special teams and that may be what he is shopping for.
He left Dallas because he knew that Roy Williams would always be ahead of him on the depth chart. So Davis signed a contract in Miami last summer to reunite with Sparano, Ireland and Parcells (Parcells absolutely loves this guy). But Davis got CUT and did not make the final-53 man roster in Miami. So he returned to Dallas and back to special teams.
He still wants a starting gig, and then Dallas releases Roy Williams and you would think that Davis would get his shot, right? Wrong, Dallas signs Gerald Sensabuagh.
Thing is Davis is a stand-out Special Teamer with EXCEPTIONAL leadership on the ST unit. But as eveidence by the Dolphins and Cowboys, he is not a starter.
I think Washington has a certifiable GEM in Doughty and they should not hinder his continued development by putting a career special teamer in the mix with him.

If the Giants want to trade up I'd love it. Clay Matthews would likely be available at 45. Take their two second round and a 5th, 6th and 7th. VC has a better SR on day two and I'd like to stockpile those 4-7 round picks.

I read it, but I don't see anywhere where it says they actually want to trade up
The Giants are picking 29th and won't have a shot at Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree - he should still be a top-seven pick despite needing foot surgery - or Missouri's Jeremy Maclin, who has great speed and is a likely top 10 pick. And they will probably have to move up if they want Maryland's Darrius Heyward-Bey. The Giants have the ammunition to move into the middle of the first round if they want to give up one of their second-round picks, either their own (No. 60) or the pick they acquired from the Saints (No. 45) for Jeremy Shockey.
I'd be shocked if Matthews is there at 45

So basically take their whole draft so they could move up and get ... Heyward-Bey? I don't think the Giants are looking to make that trade. Plus 29 and 45 is a much easier formula to get to 13. Still a high price unless Crabtree falls (and don't you think Vinny would just take him at that point) or they really love Macklin or something. If all they want is Heyward-Bey or Hakeem Nicks they could probably just move up a few spots to the mid-20's and give up far less.
