dmek25 03-16-2009, 02:55 PM Remember all those articles about him how he would be the best thing ever and with his size, speed, and ability that he would surely become the best WR ever.
he is actually not a bad receiver, just a chuckle head
freddyg12 03-16-2009, 03:31 PM This guy was on the verge of becoming a good, if not better, reciever. I'm a litle surprised they're giving up on him, but maybe there's more to it.
He could be a steal for somebody at this point, that is if he'll be able to play this year.
GMScud 03-16-2009, 03:37 PM How can they not go WR at this point?
You'd think, but they need O-line help pretty badly too, and Garrard did not have a good season at all. Jones-Drew is the lone bright spot on that offense. That said, I'd bet they'll take Maclin if he's there.
I actually think Matt Jones can be a very good NFL WR. He played QB in college so the NFL was a huge adjustment for him. Moving from college to pros is a long learning process for WRs (cough Kelly, Thomas, cough), let alone a QB who has never played receiver before. He looked like he was coming into his own last season. He just needs to stop drinking and blowing coke.

You think his drinkin' & druggin' had something to do with it?

Well they did just sign Tra Thomas.
That Guy 03-16-2009, 03:49 PM It seems almost guaranteed. How did that team fall so far so fast? They seemed smart and prepared just 2 or 3 seasons ago. Now they seem like Vikings South.
when you ditch good players (stroud) and draft idiots high (jones) it can affect your team a bit ;) especially if you're not pulling in a lot of outside FAs.
they also lost tom coughlin, who seems to have moved on quite well.
GTripp0012 03-16-2009, 03:54 PM How can they not go WR at this point?Because if Crabtree is gone before eight, there's no good receivers left.
You could take Maclin, but then you end up with a punt returner/non-receiver who can't run any routes, and the Jags have been loaded with that kind of talent forever.
Luckily for the Jags, that's just the kind of player the Raiders love, so they might be able to land Crabtree anyhow.
Nflnick11 03-16-2009, 03:56 PM Don't want him if that's the question your thread is asking me

Dude, he's a disaster. This isn't a one time thing. He's had multiple issues with drugs.

I mean under Del Rio they seemed headed in a good direction. Then they just fell flat on their faces. It's like whoever was in charge of personell got canned and whoever took over sucked.
