I think I'm on the bandwagon with Skinsnut. The only question I have is are the bloggers who don't want Pace, Holt, Harrison, etc....the same ones advocating against Daniels, Wynn, and Griffen? We will never have a team of all 24/25 y/o's. There has to be a mix or balance of old and young. The older guys have a lot to teach. Tricks of the trade.

If any of you think Thrash is who we should keep and forget Holt your crazy. I would pick up Holt and cut Thrash. Holt could teach the Rookies percise route running. Perhaps they would learn something from him that they could not learn from Moss. I like Randel El but he's not the one to be teaching anyone anything. He's a 3rd WR at best. Moss is a high 2nd or extremely low 1st WR. Holt would upgrade this offense.

As for Pace. Yes he's old, but he did an admirable job throughout his career including last yr. Why was he let go, for the same reason Holt was....the Rams are trying to get rid of big contracts. To put it another way....we must have let Evans go cause he was useless or crap...right. I believe the issue with Taylor was several fold. His not wanting to be around in the offseason, his injuries, and quite possibly he didn't actually fit our system. He is more of a LB who has free roam and only a DE on certain downs. Miami got the best out of him and we did not.

I don't have a problem with the team picking up Holt on the cheap and maybe he can spell Moss once and a while or be on the field at the same time Moss is to create mismatches. If anything you all should be screaming about the team having a WR on the team who can't catch a cold, can't run decent routes, and is one demensional...The only thing Thrash is, is a special teamer. He is no longer any good at KR also. Oh and he's 30 something. He definitly needs to go due to age.

I know I'm slamming Thrash but I was extremely happy we picked him back up. I liked him and hated to see him go. but being honest with myself all he did last yr was drop balls except for on TD, he ran lousy routes, couldn't shake the defender, and is just as bad as ARE in KR duties. My boy is no longer any good. All he's good for is 1 TD a yr and perhaps being apart of the tackle on KR. However Horton did more of the tackling on KR then Thrash did.

and....for those of you on Kelly and Thomas's "Jock" they may not pan out. I seriously hope they do cause I like both and want two awsome WR's but for those of you who keep saying lets see what they do this yr keep in mind it takes 2-3 yrs before a WR steps up. So if they don't this yr what are we going to do? Let them go and start again? Should we not give them 3-4 yrs to see if they become stars? and until then what do we do? patiently sit back and be mediocre waiting for them to step up? and blame everyone else except them like JC, the line, wait I've got a good one....the HC. cause we would never fire Hixon.

Ok, sorry to post so soon after each other. I did some research....I've found a way to please everyone.

Thrash 33y/o; Rec-9, Yrds-81, Avg-9.0, Td's-1.
Holt....32y/o; Rec-64, Yrds-796, Avg-12.4, Td's-3.

See, we can trade out Thrash for Holt, get younger like most of you want ;), and quite possibly get more Td's in the process.

No complaints right.

Deep threat is not what we need. Over the middle and a good rout runner. I love to see him along with Moss and Thomas see what they could do. But not going to happen with RT,DE and LB needs and No Cash left. Don't get me wrong love the off season pick ups but to throw all that money at three players with three other needs left is short sided.
how would spreading the money around and signing 6 average players across all our need positions be showing a long term approach? spreading the money around in one year just ensures more mediocraty.

what's short-sighted is wanting to get 6 average players in one year instead of getting 3 star players this year, one more in the draft, and address the other 2 positions with excellent players next year. we can't fix everything at once. the teams actions this offseason show the team is taking a long term approach.

I agree that Hixon should be replaced. We went out out and spent millions on Lloyd and El and we got shitty results. We drafted three pass catchers last season and got shitty results(yeah i know we need to give them time). Has Hixon actually made a WR better since he has been here? Randle El can run excellent routes and is more of a number 3 receiver. Move him to the slot.

Hixon is a special coach, one worthy of every Redskins fans unlimited lifetime loyalty, honor and respect. His name should be added to the ring of honor now. Look at his accomplishments, he has taken every receiver(all 25 + of them) and gotten them prepared every week to get their uniform on, go out and run routes/catch balls to at least an average quality. We could never let him go, because if he were on the market EVERY NFL team would go broke fighting over the rights to this outstanding caliber of a WR coach.

Pass. Was a great receiver but not one the Skins need to bring in.

If we can get him for the right price, I say go for it. Our Wr corp sucks and the jury is out whether these rooks are ever going to pan out for another year or two.

I love it how predictable this has all become...we see somebody on the waiver wire and think wow..he'd be a great fit..

we have guys with an upside..and fans that are so impatient

in practically every case the difference between a rookie and a second year receiver is huge..will they pan out?..who knows?..I say worry about Campbell and if he even possesses the ability to have people improve around him..

Linking all three of last season's drafted receivers unilaterally flat out is wrong..

Holt's numbers were better than ARE's.
