As for the Washington Redskins at #13, the leader remains for the second straight update OT Andre Smith.. In fact, Smith jumped 9% and now commands 39% of the 114 mock drafts updated in March projecting him to the Redskins.

Yeah and his stock is falling due to bad showing at his Pro-day.

Somethings wrong, I mean 19 reps? I guess he really is a football player though I wonder if we draft him should he fall to us after a trade down. i mean right now it's suggested that six tackles could go in the first round this year and that includes Eben Britton and James Merideth on the back end so it's not like he'll slide to the second round. Still you got to wonder I mean Vinny wasn't scared off by Kelly's (and possibly Davis's) workout performances so you never know.

bad pro day numbers. 19 reps? 5.3 aint great either, but it's less important.

After the out of shape Thomas and Kelly drama last year, Vinny should be smart enough to stay away from this guy. He'll probably fall to the 2nd round at this stage. I say Draft Mack, a sure bet of a player.

bad pro day numbers. 19 reps? 5.3 aint great either, but it's less important.Reps are worthless as a combine tool though, because blocking is all footwork, balance and hand placement anyway.

We look at nineteen reps and say "whoa, he's not nearly as strong as other guys" but anyone who can put up 225 12 times or more is plenty strong to play in the NFL. He's still in the top 0.3% of males at his age, obviously.

If he does fail in the NFL, it will be for other reasons. Perhaps his relative bench totals and 40 time are indicative of a bigger problem, but there's no correlation between combine (or pro day) bench reps and NFL success anyway, so I'd say the kids stock probably shouldn't fall any because of this.

If anything, this validates his story at the combine about not wanting to work out, and was probably a good business decision in the long run. Had he put up a 14 spot at the combine, he might have dropped out of the first round. Now, he's still going to be the third or fourth tackle taken.

Of course, reason #1 why the draft process is good: some team would have taken this guy with the first or second overall pick after the season ended.

I think Chris Samuels only did 19 (or fewer) reps at his pro day as well

Imagine the hilarity of NBA players losing stock in drafts because of low situp totals and slow suicide sprint times.

The fact that he showed up out of shape to the combine is reason enough for me to say no thanks. We need players that WANT to play and be their best.
