Hamoskinz 03-06-2009, 07:31 PM I just saw Jason Reid on ComCast and he said we're talking to Willis. He sounded optimistic to me about signing him. He also said feelers were sent out to see if Marcus would be interested in coming back but didn't sound as optimistic about that.
YES, let it be. (I'm sacrificing 2 chickens tonight to the Football gods if this happens :silly:)
We'll see. I'm not getting the impression they really want Willis all that much. That's not to say they aren't going to sign him, just that I'm getting a lukewarm vibe from them
Ohhh... I hope not :(

You are acting like he is Erik Williams. If they sign him, he will be more like Robin Williams.
Put it this way, I haven't heard that Seattle is salary cap strapped, so there is a reason he is expendable.

I wouldn't want the reaction to be totally out of line with his skill level.
I hope we're more serious about him than DJ Hackett though.

OT Ray Willis has re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks on a two-year deal.
Willis, who started 10 games and saw action in all 16 games for Seattle in 2008, has spent his entire four-year career with the Seahawks. He was selected in the fourth round (105th overall) in the 2005 draft.
...what now??
T.O.Killa 03-06-2009, 09:50 PM Maybe it has already been said, but Willis has signed with the Seahawks

My thoughts exactly, the one area of the team that was the absolute freakin worst last year (ORT) and the Front office cant seem to spend one dime to bring in the best replacement in free agency...Mark my words they will be kicking themselves in the arse again during the season..The right side of our OL is a turnstile...and no OLineman at #13 will be able to fix it right away.....All this FA money and another 8-8 season

No crap, I hope Mason thinks about coming back he was a stud!

Huh......Marcus OR Mason if Mason? So based on a few pre-season games....you consider Mason a stud? Not much of a body of work to consider someone that didn't even make the 53 man squad a stud...ya think?
How much time did you see him on the field in NY Jet country...? None...
Ruhskins 03-06-2009, 10:45 PM It would make me feel better if they would go ahead and sign Elton Brown. He's rated a bit higher than Heyer by Scouts, and AZ's line did a good job protecting Warner last year. Let's not forget that these players are the ones that make the decision of going with one team, and one thing that I don't want is for our team to overpay average players (remember Archuleta?), so if Ray Willis didn't want to come here, well that was his decision.
At #13, we should be able to pick up an o-lineman or LB that can start right away. The team should consider bringing Marcus Washington at a cheaper price, if they do this they can add a serviceable player or two at DE or LB. Let's not forget a couple of things:
- People knock on Heyer's talent, however he has another year of being in the Bugel system and will go through another training camp. We can only hope that he can improve and should be given the chance of compete for a starting spot.
- The same goes for Rineheart, whatever his problem was he needs to fix that and come up big in 2009. The FO has mentioned Devin Clark, well let's hope we have a diamond in the rough there a la Horton.
- We have young players at DE in Jackson, Buzbee, and Jackson who have a year under their belt, that year of experience has got to be worth something.
- And finally, we need luck on our side and hope that the likes of Samuels and Thomas do not fall to injury.
Right now it is too early (and not smart) to write off this team. We don't know what's going to happen in the draft, one team's mistake (above us) can be our fortune. I don't think anyone can predict that this team is set for failure because you never know what will happen.
