Dallas Cowboys release safety Roy Williams

From what Pat Kirwan is saying, the Cowboys have almost no money to free up. All of the base money on their contracts is really really low and turned into bonuses and such.

according to their fan site, they have about $14million cap space. Now i doubt their experts are as good as ours but if you use that ballpark, I would think they have enough flexibility if they want it.

This is good for the Cowpukes and bad for all the NFC East as w/o Roy back there policing the middle of the field, the gaping holes won't be very big any longer :-).

Roy is a jaw breaker against the run and in goalline defense but I don't see how he would fit in here. We need a big linebacker not another safety.

Old Roy. poor man lost a step. Gonna miss all the "horse collar" tackels.

It could be fun watching Dallas this year.

Why would Philly sign Roy (zero coverage skills) and release Dawkins (declining coverage skills)?

Id put it at 95% thats exactly what happens. Springs has probably wanted to play in Dallas his whole life.
