Cowboys cut T.O.

Why should he play for vet-min? He's still one of the best WR's in the league. I hope he finds a team outside of the NFC East. And continues his career.From a fan of Football in general. I enjoy watching TO play.

As a fan of football, i hope T.O. and destructive players like him never play another down.

While being an above average receiver, T.O. made his own bed by alienating
himself from his coaches and team.... Maybe a hard edged system would help
him re-ignite his career.

Maybe they will let girls play soon. I've never seen "destructive behaviour" from TO. Just a guy with a desire to play and win. There are a lot worse players on the field with a more questionable character than TO. Where ever he goes, that team will be better. Payton and TO would be extreamly dangerous. And exciting. As long as he isn't in our lockeroom. I don't care. He's a great football player and very entertaining

But then, over the next years, rather than being team oriented he becomes self oriented, and thinks he is being excluded. Because of the tightness at first a core group will start seeing it from his point of view (this year it was several receivers and one or 2 defensive guys) and questioning the QB/Coach's commitment to winning (if they aren't getting him the ball they must not be committed to winning). and in the last year(s), his core group really starts to focus around him and his struggles. And by then the distraction is full blown. Also, in the final years the media acts as an enhancer and speeds up the process.

I think your on the right track CRedskinsRule, But I think JJ also liked the idea of signing TO because of his character and helped fuel the flames. He enjoyed the attention TO brought to the Cowboys and has admitted the attention is good for the team. But because of the late season disaster. Which I blame entirely on Romo. He and his team used TO as a scapegoat. IMO.

I didn't mean to imply that Dallas' demise (that sounds so good whenever I hear it) was only about TO. Just that he has this pattern he follows when he goes to teams. Next year will be all about Romo. He still has a goto guy in Roy Williams and good running backs. If he thinks he can lead a team and still say its not important when they lose a blowout that was basically a playoff game, I doubt he will succeed either.

And to JJs comment, I think it just shows either a) how out of touch he is becoming or b) how well he tries to spin things. TO was a media story the whole time, and every little incident brought the media in saying "This is TO's cancer" and players definitely sided one way or the other.

44 you also said that he and Peyton would be extremely dangerous, and I think you are dead on that one. that is the one team I think he would absolutely lift to the SB next year. And after a SB win, who knows how it would go. Imagine if TO and McNabb HAD won that SB, do you think they would have had a melt down? I am not so sure. And to be clear I think the SB loss was definitely on McNabb not TO.

I think a contender would be "wise" to sign him to a 1 year deal (with individual and team incentives). He's proven to be a pretty good citizen in his first year with a new team and being his age he really wants a championship.

Honest post SkinzzFan, If I were the Colts I would sign him to a 2-3 year deal. At his age and with the chance for a SB. I dont think he would have much problem with the deal. Win Win for both. IMO
