One word: depth.

I would be very happy if they signed Kendall.

Signing Dockery was great but it doesn't guarantee that him and or Randy Thomas won't get nicked or worse during a 16 game season.

I really hope they bring Daniels back. I have a feeling that people are going to be shocked how much Evans signs for (remember who his agent is...) and San Fran is throwing around a lot of money right now.

If Daniels gives us any kind of hometown discount it is a no-brainer.

Dude we've all seen him play enough last year and he wasdn't that special. Whatever delusions you have about Heyer being our next RT is crazy. I guess if you want to think he's an ALL Pro RT after once good start that's fine, but you'll be dissapointed when Heyer is relegated to the bench Opening Day.

We saw Heyer play at LT last year, not RT. its a huge difference. Put Willis at LT and see how well he plays by comparison. I dont think Heyer is an automatic lock to be a stud RT in this league. I certainly never said he would be all pro. But what I am sure about is that Willis would not be a sigificant upgrade over Heyer.

One word: depth.

Im not averse to resigning Kendall especially for the vet minimum. He would be very cheap with the cap credit we'd get for keeping him, but all things being equal, id much rather have younger guys back there.

No doubt Goat. Evans is the best DE in FA. But according to GT we have other plans in the works. He made a good point. We never even offered Evans a contract so we are obviously still not interested in Evans.

Ive looked around for GTs post about other plans and couldnt find it. what did he say about our plans?

Willis may or may not be an upgrade over Heyer but I have seen no reason to believe he is. He did'nt start a game until his 4th year in the league and that was due to injury. Some of his starts also came at guard, not OT. According to the Washington Post, we have shown some interest in Willis. He is raw but has good size and performed well this year.

Interesting take on the Taylor release by Dan Steinberg in the Sports Bog:
Why was it so necessary for Jason Taylor to agree to the Redskins' offseason conditioning demands? Well, because Clinton Portis does it. Yes, Clinton Portis, whose entire career has been defined by his by-the-books insistence on showing up for voluntary offseason workout sessions. Clinton Portis, whose 2008 campaign was marked primarily by his demands that all teammates practice regularly, regardless of their various injury concerns. Clinton Portis, who ended that season by promising not to think about football until July.

So, Sarge, why exactly was it necessary for Taylor to commit?

"It's not fair to Clinton," Sarge Cerrato said to Comcast SportsNet yesterday. "Because Clinton's got the same 75 percent [clause], and Clinton lives in Florida too in the offseason, and he comes up [to Ashburn] and makes his 75 percent. So I don't think it's fair to the rest of the team, to Albert Haynesworth--who has it in his contract--to DeAngelo who has it. Dock's got it in his contract, all these guys have it in their contracts, when he's just gonna stay home and not work out. And to me, as you get older, you need to work out and be in a structured environment where you have strength coaches, you have people pushing to get the best."

I'm hearing that Evans to SF is basically a done deal.

Like you said, it might happen today. Read towards the bottom of article.

From what I recall, Blache actually likes Matt Sinclair a lot as a backup MLB. He got hurt last summer so they had to cut him and I think he's an UFA now. But I'm guessing he joins us for training camp and maybe works his way onto the roster as Fletch's backup.

Never mind that...he was cut today

Bring on Rey!!! :)

I kinda liked Sinclair. Hard worker and looked like he could knock you into next week.
