I don't really know about this. 8.5 million is a lot of money to go get a player who can bring what Jason Taylor brings, but is that kind of player still around?
Not really. It seems like all the Free Agents along the D-Line were DT's this year. Paul Spicer is available though. If he's cheap enough then he's a good stop gap at LDE. Then again he is 34 years old.

i really dont buy that this cut was completley caused because taylor wouldn't report to 75% of the summer workouts. I smell a move coming.

We need to add kicker to the need list.
FA needs left:
1. o line
2. DE/ SLB
3. kicker

Id assume that we have something in the works. There is no way we cut him for nothing. We still have 4 draft picks that could be thrown away for aging players.

Peppers?...I was thinking the same thing, and I would be for it as long as it didnt involve a #1 pick this year or next. We have to use this years #1 on one of the 4 RT's as there arent really any other options. Willis? You have to wonder about him somewhat as he is big, young, strong, versatile(G/T), healthy and hasnt received any offers yet. Not even by his own team...or ours for that matter!? That said I would still sign him but strickly as depth. Might even still have money left to sign Crowell/Burnett. I could deal with either but would love to have both as a run/pass combo and to alternate with the fragile McIntosh. So that would address most of major needs except for punter. Not fully sold on Smith though as he has punted indoors for a winning team and not so sure how his numbers would relate to outdoors and NFC east football. Also I wouldnt be too surprised if we made a run at eiter Bly or Bodden somhow. Im not so sure all these moves can be made under the cap but im sure it would be pretty close. Cut Thrash? Restructure someone again? But I do know if there is a way Danny will make it happen as his cap man is our franchise MVP. So what you guys think?

One thing I would make sure to do is go get a veteran receiver with some of this money. Age doesn't matter, and the shorter the deal the better.
Marvin Harrison?

Great move but we should have made it last week. Lets go and get Hunter Smith before he is gone. Make smart offers for Ray Willis and Angelo Crowell and no trades plz. We needs those picks.
Probably get Orakpo and AQ Shipley with 1st and 3rd picks.

How about this for a DE solution. Resign Demetric Evans, trade down and then proceed to draft Michael Johnson out of Georgia Tech. Nothing will bring out the best in two players like a Bulldog and a Yellow Jacket competing fro playing time at the same spot.

Ideally, though, if he's sitting there a week from now, I'd go after Taylor again. My first solution to his contract situation was to cut him and re-sign him, and I wouldn't be shocked if they are doing exactly that.
