Andre Smith is clearly the best option if he's there at 13. In my opinion he's going to be an elite RT (80) and an above average (75 on Scouts Inc scale) LT. Plus if we can get Smith our X and short situations are going to get a hell of a lot easier with him and Dockery. Plus lets not forget Sellers coming out of the backfield.

As of now he's a risk, unless he can change his way till draft day.

Isn't this old news anyway? I think i heard this right after the major coaches/FO meetings (the same time we heard Marcus would not be returning). Jansen will make a very good back-up IMO and wouldn't be surprised to see him compete on the interior, depending on Thomas' status, but regardless he's a goner next year as we'll save about 2.4 mill upon cutting him.

If they really want get rid of Jansen, then they should cut him and eat his salary cap. Sign Runyan (as much as I hate him, he's a mauler) draft Mack this year and draft another T or 2 in 2010.

Why would you replace Jansen with Runyan?

So his stench can take out the d-linemen?

So they blame the defense and the offensive line for last year's collapse. For some people it really is a struggle to see what's right in front of their noses.

The deal with Wide Receivers is that they can either play or they can't. Try and think of a WR that struggled, struggled, and then was great all of the sudden in year 3. I can't either. Name me a receiver that had a rookie season like the two stiffs we drafted that ever amounted to a pile of pooh. There aren't any. So, we spend the next however many years pretending that a defense that never gave up more than 25 points in a game or an offensive line that is a lot better than say Arizona's, is the problem while Vinny Cerrato continues to assure us that THIS will be the week that Kelly and Thomas breakout. I've seen this movie before.

Sweet Jesus!

Runyan IS Jansen. Why the hell would we replace an aging and ineffective past top RT with another? That is the silliest thing I have heard.

It's well worth it. Smith is one of those guys thats still good even when he doesn't try. However keep in mind this is where having to radioactively date our aging O-line becomes an advantage.

I have little doubt that the guys will push Smith to be his best, keep in mind a lot of them (especially Thomas and Samuals) seem to have that mentor mindset in that they don't mind taking players under their wings. Hell even Thomas said last year before the draft that we needed to add depth on the O-line, even if it meant drafting his replacement.

In my opinion there are some places were certain positions are destined to succed and O-line is that kind of position for the Redskins. Especailly with Buges as the coach.

I rather have Jansen and give him another chance. The only reason I say this is, if Jansen does get cut then I would sign Runyan and give him a 1 year contract and plug the whole for this year.
