Has anyone noticed that Jason LaCanfora has been eating crow consistently in the recent Redskins Insider posts? I could live with his constant negativity towards Snyder and the front office when he was breaking news but leading into this free agency period he has offered
nothing besides a negative comment to close posts.
Both Peter King and some random blogger speculated that Phat Albert would be coming to D.C. RI was essentially silent.
Leading into the Free Agent period he proclaimed that the skins had one of the worst cap situations and in no position to sign Phat Albert.
He speculated (before the Hall and Haynesworth signings) that the cap situation could prevent Dockery from being signed.
I know that ESPN beat RI to the puch when Hall was signed.
At 2:12 Friday morning, RI essentially wrote off signing Phat Albert.
RI was late announcing that the deal was completed as well.
They were somewhat timely with the news that Springs was cut but I think ESPN980 may have beat them.
LaCanfora's comment on signing Albert? "Buyer Beware"
Adam Schefter is way ahead of RI announcing the Dockery signing
Maybe the day has come where his agenda against the organization has caught up to him and I find it very interesting that Post seems to be the last to know what is going on with the team and it may be well deserved. I would think it is embarassing on some level that they have had little to offer the fan this year and I wonder how long the Post keeps him around if he is basically repeating stories broken by other NFL reporters. I would expect the local paper to have better access to information.
This may be a boring post with $nyderpalooza 2009 going on but I doubt that Redskin Insider's irrelevance is an accident.

Yes, clearly JLC is on the outside looking in. And the SKINS will keep him and the Post on the outside the best they can.
It's more like the Redskin Outsider. Good luck JLC you goof ball!

I was on the insider around 9pm last night and JLC said that Dock "could" visit. Then i got onto Schefters blog and it said that we already had signed him. I got back onto RI at 930 and he had nothing about the signing. You think JLC who covers just the skins would have an insider to slip him that tid-bit. Maybe he lost all his sources when the Gibbs regime was over.

I have felt for a long time the Post needs to get better writers. I feel the same for ESPN Radio and their announcers but I guess they carry more to the open market then just DC during the day. I just get tired of hearing all the negative dribble coming from the media. One would think if the Post wanted first hand info before anyone else they would hire writers that would write good things about the Skins once and a while. I almost never read the Post anymore for which I used to always get my Skins info from. Now I come here or other message boards. Once and a while check on NFL rumors websites. I only check out JLC when someone puts his clippings on here.
Hey JLC/Post ...how does it feel to be second rate? :)

JLC's problem is that he has lost his big sources inside. Byner was his go to on the inside. All the big name players like Schefter talk to Vinny I am convinced. It'd almost like no one talks to JLC anymore. Plus he just hasn't been doing updates as much as he should. It's like they've decided not to make RI the place to be anymore. It's too bad because when JLC first started doing RI it was a leader in the league. Now everyone has copied the idea and the POst seems to pushed it aside. This is a great reason why newspapers are getting killed. It seems to me that JLC spends an inordinate amount of time only writing articles now. Why can't Reid and JLC be doing RI this time of year?

Knowledgeable Redskins fans knew that Haynesworth was coming, Taylor was staying, Marcus was going, and Andre Smith was dropping long before they heard it anywhere else ;) (they might have also thought Jason Brown was coming, but whatever, I'm not a God, just a mod)
When I see JLC at press conferences one thing that really stands out is that he stands alone. It's like he's got no friends or network connections all. It's a shame, really. He's definitely lost sources inside Redskins Park (Earnest Byner), but it seems like overall JLC's sources are more national (and outside Ashburn). They should team him up with Maske, he'd do well there

I think JLC's unrelenting hostility to DS and Vinny has created a situation where he simply is not going to get any inside information from anyone connected with the FO. I can just imagine the next day memo - "LaCanfora apparently knew something about what we were doing. I thought the last round of lay-offs was sufficient. Apparently, I was wrong. - Mr. Snyder"
JLC has so poisoned the waters at Redskin Park, I just don't see how he can be an effective reporter on the team's activities much less an "Insider".

JLC is about as relevant as platform shoes.

SS, you should be the Redskins Insider and JLC can come here and become a mod. I mean with his anti-Snyder rants, he'd fit in nicely here. :)
