Seems like Cutler might be available.

This whole franchise QB issue is EXACTLY why we should have brought in Drew Brees when we had the opportunity a few years ago...

That guy was a no-brainer (even with the surgery) cuz he just knows how to make decisions. This is a very lofty statement but, given our personnel and Snyder's pocketbook, i am certain we would have made the playoffs every year if we would have signed him (regardless of the situation with our offensive line).

We had just traded a bunch of picks to get Denvers 1st rounder so we could pick Campbell the year before. We still had Mark Brunell on our roster; he was our starting QB and had just taken us to the playoffs for the first time in forever. we werent in the market for a QB.

It's funny how people criticize the FO so much, yet the this move would be one that not even the worst FO would do...well maybe Matt Millen would but it'd need to be a WR. After investing so much money on defense and possibly bringing a young offensive lineman in the first round, you want to bring in a new QB that needs to learn the system and have a one-year adjustment? Come, this is not a veteran QB that you'd be bringing who can pick up the offense easily. I think you guys are underestimating the need to have continuity at the key positions, not too mention giving JC the opportunity to develop confidence in the young WRs we have.

That's fair...and yes I do place that high value on Cutler. I think he is a QB that can lead a team to Super Bowls and if his team does not win Super Bowls I do not think it will be because of his play.
where do you get this kind of faith from? oh, i know. all the national championship games that Vandy played in. some guys just know how to win. i think Cutler isn't one of them. probably end up with great stats, and no rings

Interesting take on Cutler from Washington Post NFL Blogger Dan Levy-

What has Jay Cutler done? Win three less games than he's lost? Check. Take a team that was 7-4 in his rookie season and NOT lead them to the playoffs? Check. Lead his team to three straight-season ending losses last season when one win would have gotten them into the playoffs? Check and mate. By all accounts, Jay Cutler thinks Jay Cutler is awesome. But his production on the field hasn't produced the most important thing -- wins. He's not a winner. His career record in the NFL is 17-20. His record at Vanderbilt was 11-35. His teams won five games in conference in four seasons. That's not an indictment on Cutler. Maybe the rest of his team was terrible. But the numbers don't lie. He has never won at a high level. (Okay, fine it is an indictment on Cutler.)

I think a lot of people fall in love with his talent while ignoring his production. I've been guilty also of wondering about him in DC but I've never thought he's worth the cost to get him.

Skins and Broncs with another blockbuster trade. Doubtful, I have only seen the Cutler highlights on ESPN and have never watched the Broncos from kickoff til the final gun.

His poor handling of adversity is not a good sign IMO.

Cutler hasn't actually won anything yet. But he sure is acting like he has.
