OMG he's got one negative!? There's alot of links posted on this board about Mack. Check them out. If you still don't like him, fine.

Ok. All I'll say is watch him during the season by whoever is lucky to get him in draft.

Watch larry English now that's a great player in a position that we currently need... He reminds me a lot of tsuggs
tootergray34 03-01-2009, 09:15 PM I'm really excited about this season and the draft now. I think that we really need to address OL issues. But I could also see us going after a DL or a LB. For those that think Ray Mauloga would be a good fit, I don't really agree. After seeing him run that 40 i'm a little hesitant. I'm interested to see how he does at the USC pro day coming up ina few weeks till I put further judgement.
I really see us going after Oher though. When you look at the NFL, the majority of the great teams...have great OL. We need to get some HOGS in there!

Welcome aboard toot :laughing- ... I bet Rey still runs the 40 faster than London, Blades and Marcus. 40 isn't everything bro and keep in mind we're looking for a monster MLB to take over for London in the next couple of year. Maualuga is a bonafide monster and the hardest hitter in the draft... however, i'm starting to think it makes no difference cuz we're gonna go o-line @ 13 anyway.

I think your wrong here.
I prey to he heavens above every night that we draft Ray Maualuga at 13.
I know Oline is more important at this point but got damn he hits hard.
tootergray34 03-01-2009, 11:24 PM I agree fellas, I think we go OL cause that is by far the biggest need. I mean, big Rey was only slow cause of a Quad strain...I doubt it is anything serious. I just hope to god if we go LB, we go Rey and not Lauranitis. I think he will be a BUST. But I'm not saying i'm apposed to drafting Rey, I just think we go OL. I'd gladly want that beast on my team.
And speaking of the Trojans...I'm salivating at the hope that we can get Taylor Mays next year.
I don't like to call anybody a next Sean Taylor (may he rest in peace) but you have to admit...we all watch football...aren't you reminded of the great #21 when you watch Taylor Mays play the game?
an23dy 03-02-2009, 01:13 AM Unlike most people, I don't want to trade back, I think there's good value at pick 13 and we can get a long time starter. We don't need to draft based on need just to get a player at every position, just having a good looking roster doesn't translate to wins. I don't want to just add a OLB that we can say will start and it will make our starting line-up look more pretty. We need the best football player. 13 guys I would be happy with (in order): Curry, Crabtree, Maualuga, J Smith/Monroe, Laurinitus, Orakpo, Oher/A Smith, Jenkins, Cushing, Raji, Maclin.
The Goat 03-02-2009, 01:20 AM WRT the depth at OT and LB for this year's draft i think there's a huge difference of opinion... Kiper lists his top 5 OTs:
1. Jason Smith, Baylor
2. Eugene Monroe, Virginia
3. *Andre Smith, Alabama
4. Michael Oher, Mississippi
5. *Eben Britton, Arizona
but goes on to say anyone taken after these will be a project in the NFL. Personally i think all five will go in the first round though maybe 1 or 2 fall into the 20's.
Onto LB it's a pretty bleak picture. Kiper's ILBs:
1. Rey Maualuga, USC
2. James Laurinaitis, Ohio State
3. Jason Phillips, TCU
4. Scott McKillop, Pittsburgh
5. Jasper Brinkley, South Carolina
Obviously Rey is the big prize but beyond him there isn't a guy who really stands out.
Finally Kiper's take on the OLBs is the most disappointing:
1. Aaron Curry, Wake Forest
2. Clay Matthews, USC
3. Brian Cushing, USC
4. Larry English, Northern Illinois
5. Clint Sintim, Virginia
Curry's ability isn't in question but he'll be gone by the 5th overall pick. Kiper says Sintim really isn't 1st round talent. Also like mentioned a hundred time Cushing has a big durability downside.
Now i've seen a lot of posts here and comments around the web that OT talent is pretty deep and LB talent is uber deep... it doesn't look that way according to the authority, albeit a dorky guy, on college players.
I think the bottom line is that if we hope to get two legit starters at OT and LB from the draft we're probably gonna have to move our 2nd pick up from the 3rd round. On the other hand I loath the idea of trading down from 13 if we have to then pass on A. Smith, Oher or Rey.
