I think the Dockery move balances out, to an extent, the perceived over paid contract for AH. In Dock we have a guy who probably still has some growing to do at the position and can come in on day one make an impact.

Question, who thinks D.Docks will get #66 back?

I'm pretty sure he will, because I don't think Kendall is going to be around much longer.

On a side note, SS mentioned how lucky we were that high-caliber players like D.Hall and Dock were both cut... Well, check out how Dockery became a free agent:

From Redskins Insider:

How Dockery came to it the free-agent market is a bit odd.
Buffalo and Detroit had agreed to a trade Thursday with Detroit willing to pick up the rest of Dockery's 7-year, $49 million contract and to guarantee the 2009 and 2010 portions of that deal. However, the Bills failed to file the necessary paperwork with the NFL Management Council by the 4 p.m. dealine, according to a league source, and, rather than pay Dockery $4.5 million for this year, the Bills allowed him to become a free agent.
The Lions were still willing to pick up the remainder of the deal with the two guaranteed years and Dockery, who spent today in Detroit, was close to accepting their deal. However, tonight he decided to take the Skins' deal, which will pay im $3.5 million less over the duraton of the deal.

Talk about lucky!

Everyone slurping the FO shouldn't be IMO. If history has taught us anything about the Redskins and free agency, it's to reserve judgement until Sunday afternoons this coming fall

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy we are addressing needs with high caliber players. But we've won the offseason Super Bowl a bunch of times under The Danny, and it hasn't turned into success on the field.

I'm gonna play wait and see on this, but I'm definitely encouraged by the moves.

Actually, This is the first time I've been happy with FA's moves in year's's's's's. Who knows what it translates to on the field. IMO, that would depend more on the guys we already have to step it up rather than our new aquisitions. I'm not slurping FO but I think they have made some nice moves thus far.

As far as reseving judgement til Sunday afternoons, History has shown its a Sunday to Sunday thing with the Skins regardless of what kind of team we have or have had.

But I know what your saying GMScud. No slurping yet, I agree:)

All we can do is judge the moves as we see them today. Of course the ultimate judgment will come from how this shakes on on Sundays, but there's nothing wrong with tossing out some praise right now as we see fit.

Yeah but it's not up to the front office to win on Sundays in the fall. That's up to the players and coaches. It's up to the front office to put the best players and coaches out there in position to win.

I hear what you and SS are saying. Notice I did comment that I'm happy we are addressing needs with high-caliber talent.

We've had big money guys (who seemed like solid signings at the time) flop in the past, so for that reason our FO hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt with me.

I will however give them credit thus far for realizing our glaring needs (O/D-line) and singing a few of the best players out there to fill the gaps.

I understand that. But in the past we've spent gillions of dollars on players the front office deemed fit to give us the best chance to win and they weren't even close, despite offseason speculation that we had done a good job in FA. Therefore I reserve judgement for the most part.

Yeah that's all I'm saying. I'm not raising the Super Bowl here we come flag by any means. I'm simply pleased with the moves so far and the direction we seem to be heading this offseason. The lines are clearly a priority, that's good to see.
