Those of us who faced criticism when we voiced our dissatisfaction with the release of Leigh Torrence instead of Shawn Springs are now justified.

Why? SS was the better of the two, Hall is as good or better than Torrence, and had Torrence been kept Haynesworth may not have been an option.

"As good or better than Torrence". I could not let this slide. This is one of the funniest posts that I have ever read. Torrence was a good role player. He should not be in the same sentence, paragraph or novel as Deangelo Hall.

Springs was extremely talented but he stopped selling out for this team a couple of years ago. It was obvious that he knew this day was coming last year and he refused to put his next contract at risk. He would have played that way again this year (choosing to sit out than to risk further injury) so choosing Hall over Springs was the right move. Springs would not have been on the field enough.

P.S. I am in the process of changing my name because I don't think it is appropriate. I would never disrespect 21

He is still very good if healthy. But thats a huge if. He had to go not willing to restructure, Too much for a guy playing half a year.

I felt a LOT more comfortable when Springs was back there. Turn the page.

Yeah and his cap space can be used on two guys with long term deals and 13 month payouts.

If those two guys are OL or DE then that would really help out.

Could he be an option for the Patriots?

No surprise here. Last season his inability to come back and play after the bye week due to a hammy pull was disturbing. He seemed to lack mettle. Good when healthy but not a real bulldog in the rehab department.

Springs did a lot for the team but he's pretty old and oft injured. There was no question he was going to get cut with the paycheck he was going to command.
