The Goat 02-28-2009, 05:34 PM Haha Giantone just got served... Giantone 02-28-2009, 05:51 PM Didn't catch that before... now i'm uber pissed. LOL...........I didn't take a shot at the Skins and you will see that from my posts I all in all respect the team and the players .........and no one has more admiration for Joe Gibbs then I have .My perspective is that from a fan of another team.Dan Snyder is bad for the NFL and so is Jerry Jones and Al Davis, are they personelly nice people ....hell I don't know, the Danny seems to be.I'm irritated that my team now feels it must do what your'e team did to it's fans, screw us over to stay even. We're leaving a perfectly good stadium to move 10 yards away just so we can own it and charge the fans more money and why to keep up with only 3 owners ,PSL's are getting rid of fans who have had their seats for as long as 60 some odd years. It doesn't matter if it's Haynsworth or Howdy Doody......no linemen ,Giant Eagle ,Cowboys ...........or Skin should get 100 mill(I know really 48).....he had a good year no doubt but he hasn't earned it.Now our linemen who feel they also must get the same thing,so we ...like the Skins must charge 8$ for a water down lite beer and 5$ for a hotdog....oh yeah and $12,500 for PSL's and another $2800 for the tickets .I haven't even mention the parking, but hey.......nice pick up.:) 53Fan 02-28-2009, 06:07 PM LOL...........I didn't take a shot at the Skins and you will see that from my posts I all in all respect the team and the players .........and no one has more admiration for Joe Gibbs then I have .My perspective is that from a fan of another team.Dan Snyder is bad for the NFL and so is Jerry Jones and Al Davis, are they personelly nice people ....hell I don't know, the Danny seems to be.I'm irritated that my team now feels it must do what your'e team did to it's fans, screw us over to stay even. Yeah, blame Snyder. Giantone 02-28-2009, 06:21 PM I do. GMScud 02-28-2009, 06:29 PM I do. PSLs weren't Snyder's idea. Snyder also isn't buildng a new stadium. Teams having a desire to maximize their earnings isn't Danny's fault. The NFL is a cash cow. It has a fantastic product, but teams only get 8 regular season games all year to turn a profit from the live fan. That's the reason it's much more expensive to go to games than any other major sport. Are Snyder or any other owners supposed to be "nice" to the fans by keeping all prices (tickets, concessions, etc) dirt cheap? It's a nice thought but a suicidal business model. I don't like how expensive all things NFL have become, but it is what it is. It's not Snyder's fault, and it's not gonna change either. irish 02-28-2009, 07:24 PM I'm just going by his attitude and the way he presented himself overall. He seems to be very aware of the kind of player he is and someone that has learned from his past mistakes. And he seems to be motivated to be a great player for reasons other than just a big paycheck. I could be totally wrong of course, that was just my impression of him as a person. He seems to have his head on straight and his priorities in order. I agree that he made a good impression but thats all it is, an impression. He knows what to say and what the fans want to hear. Its impossible to tell if his head is on straight and whether he'll play for that big check. Time will tell. Giantone 02-28-2009, 08:37 PM PSLs weren't Snyder's idea. Did you read my post, becuase it doesn't seem like it by your response. Never said they were his idea, but the way he runs his business(this case the Skins) is detrimental to the league as a whole.Nothing wrong with an owner being a fan but you need to be able to seperate yourself and he just doesn't or can't do that. That turn the profit thing well ....there just isn't enough time, most the profit comes from the TV rights, where he and others(just not him)gouge the fan is by the things I said ................About being nice to the fans ........yes.They(we) are the ones that matter,so it's ok by you to price out the fan and have all games now corprate seats, with this economy.. .that might bite them in the butt.Maybe you think it's good business but the Dannys other business interst are starting to turn(Six Flaggs)sour,I remember JKC and WM and how they did it for the fans like the Rooneys(sp) not for the almighty dollar and that is what made them successful and buy doing it that way .............rich to. He seems to have his head on straight and his priorities in order. he said all the right things and handled it very well, so that's good... but talk is cheap. we'll have to wait for the season to see how it plays out on the field. edit: I'm not saying i think he's going to shut it down, just that, at this point, it's a bad argument on both sides since there's nothing factual to judge him by... yet. saden1 02-28-2009, 09:35 PM Giantone, I wonder if you work hard at your hateration skills and if you are capable of saying something nice about the Redskins. 53Fan 02-28-2009, 10:10 PM Just curious. I really don't know. Has Eli signed his 120 million dollar, 40 million dollar guaranteed extention yet? |
