Monkeydad 02-27-2009, 12:26 PM These guys are still young. This dude is a real talent, and in our system, he does something that Carlos Rogers in incapable of...getting picks.
Haynesworth fills a major need. We need a monster DT, and we got the best.
I am thankful we can afford this. I love it how people hate on Danny...I like him more and more every year. He just wants to win, and I realize that. VC is another story.
Well said and...me too.
djnemo65 02-27-2009, 12:26 PM SS isn't in charge of that.
as far as batting %, overall it's not that bad, but on super high price FAs... it's terrible, and you need to hit at least .800+ on those.
i think we're still paying for lloyd... seriously? ouch.
I was kidding. I understand that he can't walk down the hall and cancel a radio show. And with the exception of the disastrous 2006 class, we haven't missed on too many free agents since the Spurrier days.
I'm not saying we're a perfectly run organization, but that idiot needs to get some facts.

Monkeydad 02-27-2009, 12:26 PM Did you read my previous post? I meant Leigh Bodden not Boldin.
You typed Boldin. People reading see that and have to respond to it's ridiculousness right there. There's an edit button, you know. :)
jdlea 02-27-2009, 12:28 PM I voted "Like the player, hate the money" simply because I'm not sure that he'll continue to be the disruptive force he has been. He's one of those guys who can get a little lazy and I don't know if I trust Blache to use him correctly. He freelanced a lot in Tennessee and Washington has not, traditionally, allowed their DTs to do that. I hope it ends up being a great deal, I'm just going to have to take a wait-and-see approach right now.

Yeah, he also does something better than Carlos, commits lots of personal fouls at critical moments that cost your team 15 yards and is not as good in man to man coverage which we use often.

That's the thing that makes me like these deals the most. They're both young players who could become fixtures on this team. I'd love to see Hall and Rodgers become a great CB tandem and Haynesworth continuing to dominate. I would love to see Haynesworth make guys like Carter and Taylor better, we should get more than 24 sacks next season
nyredskinsfan 02-27-2009, 12:32 PM Hall's sure to be a leader back there and the DL is going to have a lot of fun.
JoeRedskin 02-27-2009, 12:35 PM Actually, I think the backfield of Hall/Rogers is going to be fine - as long as they can work together, I think their styles will be complimentary. Can Smoot be a vialble 3rd corner anymore? dunno.
jdlea 02-27-2009, 12:37 PM I think the biggest and most important thing about these two players is that they can both change the football game. Haynesworth can get pressure and he can help DEs get free and create pressure; he can also stop the run. Hall makes plays, he gets beat, but he gets some picks, he plays the ball well. It's been a little while since the Skins D really made plays, particularly last season, it seemed like they were a "bend, but don't break" type of D and it worked out fairly well. However, I'd rather have a defense that can dominate a football game (like Pittsburgh's) and change games by creating turnovers. Hall (to a lesser extent) and Haynesworth can do that
