Yeah $20 is definitely a good price for that kit.

I have no idea if it is even a good price but usually Woot is. Woot : One Day, One Deal (SM) (http://www.woot.com/) My buddy emailed me about this, but by the time I clicked on the link, it was already sold out. Hopefully they get some more soon... redsk1 04-06-2009, 12:00 PM I've done the Mr. Beer thing before and it's not bad, but a "true" homebrewer will look at you like you just took budweiser and poured it into your own bottle. I have a friend that typed out a pretty good DIY homebrew equipment and directions list if you're interested, it's kinda long so I didn't wanna just throw it right in here. Sure, i'd be. tryfuhl 04-07-2009, 02:10 AM Due to it being so long and to keep as much credit to the guy that posted it (sorry not actually a friend, I just have a habit of saying that instead of person from another website or whatever, it's easier) I'll post a link to it if for whatever reason that's not cool I'll ask him if I can copy it over Offtopic.com (http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?p=113217856) firstdown 04-28-2009, 10:26 AM Matty have you tried your beer? If so how would you rate. I was working on my boat last night and decide to give mine a try and I'll give it a C plus. It was missing some flavor but my kit was 2 years old and that might have something to do with the out come. Its not bad but its missing the wow factor. MTK 04-28-2009, 11:01 AM Gave it a try last weekend was underwhelmed. I'm going to give the batch another couple of weeks to see if it improves. I thought the taste was so-so. firstdown 04-28-2009, 11:11 AM Gave it a try last weekend was underwhelmed. I'm going to give the batch another couple of weeks to see if it improves. I thought the taste was so-so. Mine seemed to tast a little watered down. Do you remember what you made as I bet its the same thing that came in my kit. Schneed10 04-28-2009, 11:25 AM I've made a few batches of it and have liked it, trying different recipes till you find one you really like is fun. But it's one of those things where if you make it then you tend to like it so much better. I like to make the pale ale (Canadian Draft + Pale Malt Extract + a full package of cascade hops), but if you blind taste-tested me on that mixture vs a Sierra Nevada or other good pale ales out there, I don't think the Mr. Beer would win on taste alone. MTK 04-28-2009, 11:26 AM I made Red Devil IPA Mine wasn't watered down, the flavor just wasn't what I expect from an IPA. Not hoppy enough. A little undercarbonated too. A little more time might help, we'll see. Schneed10 04-28-2009, 11:33 AM I made Red Devil IPA Mine wasn't watered down, the flavor just wasn't what I expect from an IPA. Not hoppy enough. I'd rather have over-carbonated beer than under-carbonated. Whatever they recommend for sugar, I use heaping measures instead of level measures. That seems to bring the fizz. |
